I am going to be visiting Las Vegas May 31 through June 4 (or maybe June 5). Anyone know of a mentalist I should be sure to see while I'm there?

When I go to Vegas, I will schedule my entire trip around seeing Paul Vigil.

Last I heard Paul's no longer here. Best bet is Gerry McCambridge

Yep, Vegas show closed.

Paul Vigil's website says:

More recently, his regular show at King Ink inside the Mirage (which ran from 2010-2013) held it’s own against the multi-million dollar production shows for which the city is famous, gathering standing room only crowds week after week.

http://paulvigil.com/about-paul/

Here's an excerpt from an article dated 23 Mar 2013 mentioning the end of that show:

Mario Barth opening tattoo parlor at The Mirage, magician Paul Vigil leaves King Ink

[...]

Barth’s other tattoo-centric property at The Mirage, his King Ink bar-lounge-tattoo parlor across from 1 OAK, will close upon Starlight's opening. Local magician Paul Vigil, who has held a residency at King Ink since it opened in 2010, performed his final show there March 13.

"All I knew were that things were up in the air. Not knowing where I'd land, I decided to just pull out while I still had the ball in my court," Vigil says of the circumstances. "Perhaps The Mirage will wish to hire me themselves? I don't know. I've done my part."

Vigil is uncertain about the future of his Las Vegas show. He will be traveling for a string of performances in the coming weeks and says he will refocus on the local scene upon his return.

And his Facebook page indicates:

- He performed a bit in NYC during Feb 2014;
- He is looking for a new performance spot in Vegas;
- He is currently (Mar 7, last update)) watching Clone Wars on Netflix.

Luke Jermay's website shows that he will be in Europe at the time that I'm in Vegas. I'm now following Paul Draper on Facebook, I'm hoping he'll be performing when we are there.

Luke left Vegas a couple of years ago I believe

People mistakenly believe Las Vegas is a mentalism mecca, it isn't. Like anywhere else a good mentalism show is hard to find. Even Keskin has always had trouble here. As I said, the only real long-running show in town is Gerry McCambridge.

Well, there's always Penn and Teller. I know that's not even close to mentalism, but it will be a good show.

I heard Banachek is/was/will be filling in for Criss Angel while he's filming Celebrity Apprentice, but not sure about the dates.

If you run short of mentalism, Mac King is always wonderful and is a total bargain. Ask for vouchers at the Harrah's hotel desk, way at the back on the ground floor.

He plays early/mid afternoon, at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. I've enjoyed him so much that I've watched back to back shows. Same effects, but they feel fresh each time with new participants.

The way he engages with his participants and enjoyably brings out their personalities onstage is valuable for any mentalist or magician to study and learn from.

Thanks, Wilf. An afternoon show is great, since I'm accompanying my wife on one of her business trips. That will give me something to do while she's at work!

I believe Allison Campbell is based out of Vegas. I don't know if she has a gig there or is on the Road right now.

There are many mentalists, myself included, based in Vegas, but most of us do not do public shows or residency productions. The OP's question was about mentalists (not magicians) that he could see while visiting, which is why I've only mention those that fit this criteria and are a true possibility.

'People mistakenly believe Las Vegas is a mentalism mecca, it isn't.'

I wonder why this is? Perhaps a smaller percentage of the general population are interested in mentalism, compared to other types of entertainment that appeal to a broader market? Also interesting that Kreskin has not done well in Vegas. That surprises me.

It's not so much "mentalism" as it is the economics of producing a show in this town.
