A bright and cheery promo! Well filmed and edited. I would have liked to have seen more of each clip...
The presentation makes the magic.

G'day Giz
Yes that clip gives a good idea of what you do and it certainly captures the enjoyment and amazement on the faces of your audience - well done. Bob Latta (aka Troppo Bob) |

You do good stuff Giz. Can I ask some questions?
I notice in the opening scene, you seem to be facing the curb. Here in RI, we are expected to face the buildings and stand against the curb, are the rules different there or do they just ignore you? It looks in other sequences like you're playing at some sort of "craft fair" or "open air market," do you ask the person in charge for permission to set up or do you just "show up" and hope for the best? A couple of other points. I see that your table for the shell game seems to be different from the table used in the "fair" settings. Did you get a new table or do you use that one specifically for the shell game? And the shell game... nobody gives you grief for running a shell game on the street? (I know you're not fleecing the public, but some LEOs don't bother to check that first!) I remember my first busking attempt, I was doing fine until I went into "Color Monte" whereupon a friendly police officer popped up and broke up the show!

To Ed:
The video has me in 2 locations. One is a fair type situation and the other is a neighborhood festival held once a month. In 20 years I've NEVER had cops give me ANY grief over the shell game. I've had them watch and walk away laughing. Hope this helps. My street performing book is still available at my website. www.blackbeltmagician.com |

To Ed:
The big table is a Tim Flynn built table. The smaller table box was built for me by my brother. I wanted a small self contained box/ table. The Tim Flynn table has served me well for years. 4**** I can't recommend it too high. The smaller table was custom built for me by my brother. I've had it for almost 2 decades and all I've needed to do was change velvet tops as they wore out or got stained. The 3 shell action works well on either table. Harry Anderson taught me how to make bigger peas for the shells so they are easier to see. My updated book is still available at www.blackbeltmagician.com |
