These are the same old rumors from the past several years. My hunch is Apple will NOT release an iWatch. I think they've got something better up their sleeve.
If I had to put money on it, I'd say its a ring. Not a watch. I'll explain why I believe this if anyone's interested. Let's check back here when it's announced. |

So, I'm coming around on my thoughts. I still think this thing, whatever it is, will be so much more than a watch, much like the phone is the least used part of my iphone. BUT, after seeing this website, I feel this is closer to what It could be than anything else out there. It just feels rig and this guys renderings, (fake) marketing of it show the true potential:

As it goes, whilst this could open up some interesting avenues, I think this is a negative for magic rather than a positive. Here is why. lets take for instance an imaginary app that beams a bit of info from your phone so you can see it on your watch (I know many exist). At the moment, the watch most likely being used is a pebble. Now most people don't own a pebble and in the grand scheme of things smart watches are a relatively unknown bit of kit. Meaning your wrist is quite an inocuous place to get info from.
Go forward in time. Apple release their watch and the eyes of the world are on it because; well its a new product from apple. Now all of a sudden, the wrist is not such an inocuous place to get info from as few will be able to escape the media covereage a new product from apple generates. I'm not saying the iwatch will completely ruin things, but equally it may make life a little more difficult. |

Wow those are great points. I'd hate for people to realize the nature of sending info from phone to watch. Even now I think people who are aware of the pebble only think it receives your texts or other simpler matters.
Opening up the idea of tailored communication between watch and phone would indeed impact several of the routines I do now. |

... lookie lookie!
"CEO Tim Cook is reportedly seeking out new Apple board members. The Wall Street Journal suggests that the Steve Jobs era of Apple is over and Tim Cook’s era is fully underway. An unknown former employee said in the report that “Steve was a wartime CEO, while Tim is a peacetime CEO.” Apparently, ‘people familiar with the company,’ reveal that Cook is looking to bring a fresh life to the Apple’s eight-person board as majority of them are aged 63 or older and have been present for over a decade. In addition, the WSJ confirms the vast amount of other rumours that have surfaced with Apple launching a larger iPhone and smartwatch in the fall, possibly October timeframe. “People familiar with the company’s plans say that Apple is working on a smartwatch with advanced sensors to track a user’s fitness and health. Apple is expected to introduce the new device, as well as a larger iPhone, in the fall,” said the report. Reuters recently confirmed similar rumours about Apple’s upcoming products, stating it will come to market with a wearable device with a 2.5-inch touchscreen, support wireless charging, and will be “slightly rectangular,” with a “watch face protrud[ing] slightly from the band, creating an arched shape, and will feature a touch interface and wireless charging capabilities.”

I find it telling that there is not much in that article! It is basically an article of everyone guessing since they haven't any idea of what Tuesday will bring. For example, the quote:
Quote:
"If Apple offers its own product, it will expand the market," Sung-jin Lee, Director of LG So many obvious comments with no real insight. Which means Apple has again proven it has tight control on its own secrecy like they did when they revealed Swift, their new programming language. Anyway, Apple does have a remarkable ability to see what the rest of us cannot. Regardless, Tuesday will be full of surprises and I'm eagerly looking forward to their event. |

Why will it make Pebble obsolete?

If anything I suspect it will make the pebble more useful. The apple watch will no doubt become popular and instantly recognisable while the pebble, particularly the steel will remain under the radar of the public at large.

I remember reading that the iwatch might use both/either wifi OR Bluetooth to stay paired with the phone.
That could be extra deceptive (maybe a bit annoying when you're not performing) - let's say you keep the iwatch paired with wifi and the pebble with Bluetooth (I have no idea if this is possible)... I currently do a 2 phase song divination routine, the 2nd half of which uses my phone (and the pebble). It'd be great if I could take off the iwatch and hand it to someone to be "as fair as possible"... You get the idea |

There is no reason why you couldn't have a pebble and an I watch paired at the same time with Bluetooth.

The fuction we were worried would became known by everyone is confirmed...
"Conversation button (...) Beyond calling and messaging them, you can get their attention with a gentle tap. It vibrates the "taptic" feedback on their smartwatch. Apple taptic conversation Communicate with simple vibrating taps or sketches What's intriguing about this taptic feedback system is that it's said to be more precise and subtle than a vibration everyone can hear. Want to ditch a party? Your friends' secret sign may be three taps on the Apple Watch before bailing. It's an interesting way to get someone's attention. Apple Watch goes all Drawesome on us with a bizarre sketch function for light messaging on the wrist. You can also share your heartbeat with someone in real time." http://www.techradar.com/news/portable-d......-1131043 |

NabilT, hopefully this concept isn't widely revealed on youtube. We can also guard against this by creative with our methods ... including codes that a lay person wouldn't think of. If supathump is released on this I will be forced to purchase.
All small town magicians know what 793.8 signifies.
