Unfortunaly I played with my wiregram too much and completely stuffed it's memory.
I've been attempting to reshape it with a small blowtorch...but it's laborious work....and tips from the blacksmiths out there. |

Hi
The metal is a special alloy of nickel and titantium. (memory metal) and works due to a state change. At room temperature, the metal is in the martensite phase. Heating the metal to about 50 degrees C changes it to the rigid austenite phase. To shape or reshape it requires it to be help in place and heated to cherry red and allowed to cool naturally. The last time I saw that coil spring, it was as a give-away during a dutch convention -several years ago. Maybe try Monikkendam or Kali in Holland, they used to sell it at that time...

Sanscan,
Hank Lee's has something called "Hot Wire." It is a long wire element, and not a coil. Hope this helps you. |

Glad I found this post. I had a wiregram (to great effect) and than my daughter lost it. Time to get another one. Also the routine with the WireGram & Pyro is awesome.

Great routine. I have looked at wire grams for months. You have convinced me to add wire grams to my act. There looks to be endless possibilities. Especially if you make your own shapes. ChrisG

I know wiregrams as well. They are really interesting and people will always talk about that. Depending on the presentation it may be a little trick though.

Do these last a long time?

ChrisG you won't be disappointed with the reactions. Just take the routine nice and slow, and you will have heads turning.
Sirbrad, I have had mine since they first came out and still work like the day I got em. However I have also lost a couple along the way too. P.

My pleasure, they really are great! I love doing card tricks that are not card tricks. This is one of those items!
