A lot of posts are all over this site with questions on types of cups. The link listed below will give you great information on different types of cups, and cup selection. I don't recall the link being posted before, so hopefully I'm not duplicating someone's work.

On the link, Mr. Riser talks about ball size, and gives some great tidbits concerning different types of cups. To replace this link with threads on this site to answer questions would take up a lot of server space, so please check it out.

Many thanks to Mr. James Riser for posting the link. You will even see some names familiar to you from the Café on the site. I'm currently working on a listing of cups comparing each type by weight and dimension. When I get it finished, I'll post the information.

Thanks! As someone just starting out with the Cups and Balls, it's nice to have some pictures to go with the names I keep seeing here in the Café.

You might also want to drop by http://www.hocuspocusjr.com/cups.htm to see some other cups.

James Riser's web site is a godsend to people who want to learn about the cups.

Jim's excellent reference and advise on cups is to be complemented, especially coming from a craftsman that fully understands the manufacturing process.

I am proud to say that I own a set of the Mini, Traditional, and Standard cups he released. Apparently, Jim has decided to discontinue them, so they will be highly collectible.

I have a set of his jumbo cups. One can only hope that Jim gets the bug to spin some more cups sometime in the near future. All of his products are of the highest quality.

Hello all,
Yes finding a "Good" set of cups can be difficult, First and foremost I would recommend the James Riser web site . Look under 'Selecting a set of cups'… lots of useful info. James really knows his stuff! Now for a shameless plug:
If you are looking for a " Set of "large" road-worthy cups I would like to recommend, the Michael Lee Millennium Cups. Well made and HEAVY. They come in Brass or Copper. E-mail me if you have any questions. (An added note: just heard that a set of my Brass Cups just Sold at an auction in England for the sun of $ 1,200.00. You CRAZY cup collectors. Thank you!)

I don't have a set of Michael's cups, but I am expecting a set in the mail within the next couple of days. They certainly looked good on the web site.

I'll give them an unbiased report when they arrive.
