Sometimes it looks blue during the day. At night not so much. And where I live in Washington, rarely. It's usually a shade of gray.
:) If the oceans were green, would the sky still be blue? |

You have proven my point Destiny. It is blue here with white clouds in South Georgia.

The sky is black, it only turns color when light hits it.

The daytime sky tends to be blue because the earth's atmosphere scatters the sunlight when the sunlight hits it. Sunlight is made up of all colours, but blue light travels in shorter waves and so gets spread further than the other colours.
