Who inspires you? How does that inspiration play out in your life?

Tough question. No person really inspires me. Can't thank of one anyway. Life and learning inspire me. I LOVE TO LEARN AND ASK QUESTIONS. I was at the dentist this morning for a cleaning. I don't like taking time to brush each day so I go to the dentist every six months and give them a lot of money to do it for me. I asked questions about how the xray machine worked, how they cleaned the tools, if the lady in the office was married, you know standard stuff. Basically I just love to learn stuff and stuff inspires me to think of other stuff and other stuff makes me want to create.

I'm laughing reading this. At KAX, I shared a room with Barry and during a rare moment of leisure, we were chatting and eating pretzels. Barry launched into an impromptu analysis of the shape and texture of an individual pretzel which led to a series of questions regarding the possible manufacturing process and then the packaging and placement of product into the package and so on. Barry's unquenchable curiosity is truly an asset and his path to new, better and more perfect and wonderful scripts and magic ideas.
The Barry Factor - the desire and ability to find remarkable truth in the seemingly mundane elements of life and then retell its profound essence in a way that both entertains and enlightens. Here's my Question - Barry, do you work with ideas as they come or like Steve Axtell do you have an accumulation of workable concepts that are awaiting developement? |

Thanks Steve, I think "mundane" is a funny word.

I used to keep notebooks but I'm much more OCD now and need to do things immediately so I work on MANY, too many, ideas at once. My office floor stays COVERED with projects and ideas in the works. As I walk over them they stare at me begging me to help them come alive. I will work on one for a bit and then move to another. I can't keep my focus very long so . . . did you just see that squirrel?
