I've been a member for several years too.
I'm in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Unfortunately, there is no chapter anywhere near. Even though I've put out feelers to see if there are other Christian illusionists around willing to start a chapter, I've only got one response in the last 4 years. That's a shame. Other than the Christian Conjurer, I've had little/no interaction with the FCM. Since Kidabra has a ton of Christians in it, I've been thinking to go to one of their conventions to get more bang for my $$. There is a group, Capital Clowns (I think) that sponsored the Ginn/Taylor/Patrick-Smith lecture tour in our area, but other than that, there is nothing support wise around here. (sigh) I have appreciated the articles in the Conjurer, the ads, and the contacts/references in it as well and I look forward to each issue. -Dave |

I've been a member of the FCM for about 4 years now.
First heard about the FCM when I lived in Texas. There, I met a magician who was trying to get a local chapter of the FCM started. I ended up being one of the first members (as well as one of the first officers) of that group. Moved back to South Carolina a couple of years ago and discovered there wasn't a local chapter of the FCM. Got together with a couple of local FCM members, and we're now trying to start a local chapter of the FCM here. We're already meeting regularly, but our attendance runs anywhere from 2 people to 12, so we need to do something about that I think. As far as the Christian Conjurer, I think it's rather hit-or-miss. Sometimes, there are some good articles and good tricks, other times I'll read through it and stick it on my shelf and not look at it again. But overall, it's a good magazine and a nice perk to being an FCM member. Haven't made it to one of the conventions yet. Would like to do that sometime in the near future.

I though this would be a good place for my first post. I am an FCM member from the Chicago area.
The last convention I went to was at Calvin College quite a few years ago. I agree that the CC is hit and miss. But you can't keep everyone happy all of the time. |

I want to thanks FCM members from USA who donated some old stuff as starting resource to FCM Malaysia. Don't know much yet about what the resources are BUT I do know there's a great balloon sculpture book that is right in front of me that I am getting new ideas from.
A love donation by a Carlos Blades of Westlan, MI, USA. Thanks for sharing!!!
Many Blessings!!
