I swear, it didn't move when the two dudes kissed.
Really!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well that has put me off watching it. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I absolutely hated this video.

Intimacy isn't ever easy. Ever. It can be faked, I suppose. But does anyone, anywhere, really want faked intimacy?

I don't think the intimacy was faked. What makes you say that?

Best line for me: "What was your name again?"

Reminded me of high school. Fun times.

Seemed completely pointless to me.

After I looked at the credits in this video I realized that I actually knew one of the people--the older woman with glasses, Jill Larson, was in an acting class I took at Hunter College 35 years ago. She was very pretty, but a little older than me and I had a crush on her. She had a beautiful musical theater singing voice. I haven't seen her again before today!

What makes me think the intimacy was faked? Maybe it wasn't. How do I know?

But if the point of the film was to bring strangers together and watch them break down a particular barrier, then why stop at kissing? Why don't we create a sort of reality show in which we put two total strangers together, have them produce a child and raise that child to maturity? We're all just people, after all.

Sorry, but watching strangers swapping spit doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings about the brotherhood of all human beings (see how close we really are, if you just let down your barriers!) It makes me think that some people have no idea what privacy, decency, intimacy, and sexual desire mean to the human soul. We've made it cheap. This film also makes it cheap.

Shhhhhhhh! (you and me buddy, we split the money 50-50, whaddya say? I mean it was your idea, okay, but I feel I provided the inspiration, and I know people who know people if you know what I mean...*wink, wink, nudge, nudge*)

But on a more serious note, the point is that kissing is *not* spitting, nor sexual intercourse. It's something more mysterious. Small, but large.

No, I don't thing kissing is the same as spitting, of course. I was trying to put my point in extremes to make my point obvious.

Now here is a subtile observation. The most passionate-looking kiss, in my judgment, is between two women. The most timid, almost shy, kiss is between two men. Assuming that the director just told the people what to do and pointed the camera (i.e., the "passion" and "shyness" are not scripted), the the film does succeed in shattering some of our stereotypes regarding homosexual behavior.

I think the director just pointed and shot without manipulation--but I also think there was a selection process--I don't think those were the only couples filmed; I wouldn't be surprised if there were hours of footage shot of many more couples. But the fact that we're talking about what a kiss *is* is part of the reason, I think, for this piece.

I just hope some of those people got each other's numbers afterwards.

It would definitely be a great "how did you meet" story for the grandkids.

I meant the first video, not the second. I LOVED the second video.

I guess I'm just glad I don't know anyone in the second video.
I thought the second video was funny, but easy.

Easy, because the first video is ridiculous. It doesn't take much effort to ridicule something ridiculous.

Hey, it's OK and all good, and I'd give you a big kiss, with tongue and scraping beards, Landmark, as a gesture of friendship.

But I'd still find the First Kiss video stupid.
