At this stage wild conjecture but personally, I hope it happens.

Craig Ferguson!

In the way David was obtuse when he started, somewhat Craig is obtuse as well. The wrench in the works is Craig is a far superior interviewer far better connected to pop culture today.

I used to like Craig but now Craig is a crass jerk who leads almost every interview into the gutter.

Why any young woman would agree to be on his show is beyond me.

(Yep, I'm old.)

Pop culture lives in the gutter. I'm not sure there is much leading necessary.

Harris wouldn't be bad, but I'm hoping it's Stephen Colbert.

Colbert is just who I was thinking of...Doogie couldn't handle it.

Colbert is funny.

Cut the Doogie c**p.

Neil has earned my respect.

He's done a lot for the reputation of Magic in pop culture.

I have to say Craig has done very well on the Magic front as well. Magic week is great.

Neil Patrick Harris would be a good choice I think. He's kind of vanilla enough to be successful. Colbert, like Jon Stewart, would have to either a) tone down his politics, in which case he'd be disappointing; or b) maintain the political voice in which case he'd probably be unsuccessful sustaining an audience on a network show.

Ellen D would probably be pretty good at that post as well.

I don't know them but Chris Rock sounds a cool name ans so I will go for her.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

LOL, Tommy.

I'm glad to see Tina Fey on the list, she's a favorite of mine.

Sarah is raunchy for my taste. She's funny but that gets old fast.

I liked Ellen's stand-Up better than I like her talk show.
The constant need for material makes it clear that the writing staff is a hugh part of success.

We've come a long way when a Gay Man is considered vanilla. Yea!

I disagree. Colbert is just as funny outside of the political realm. Did you seen his Christmas special? Hysterical.

My first thought on this topic was that NPH does not have the kind of chops to handle late night effectively. But then I thought about it and I realized that since graduating from Doogie Howser, he has done a lot of things very well. Things I would not have thought him capable of. If fact he has never faltered at anything that I have seen, so maybe he would be a good choice.

P.S. for those of you who are not from southern California, NPH led the "Magic Castle" as our president, from a rather bad place to a very good one. Let's add leadership to his list of skills
Magic is like Science,
Both are fun if you do it right!

No, but Barney or Dr. Horrible could. Anyway, it's going to be Colbert so the argument is moot.

I know N.P.H. could have done it but Colbert will be great.

He is funny, but his comedy frequently strains so hard it stops being comedy and becomes forced.

I thought they should move Craig over to NBC, then my wife wouldn't have to change channels when the Tonight Show is over.

My personal take, bring back the CBS Late Night Movie, but I'd be alone in that.

A movie? There are plenty of movies 24/7 given the hundreds of channels available.

I'm confident that Colbert will be excellent and will do for the Late Show what Fallon has done for Tonight.
