First off.
Hi Today was my first time performing quick silver, I performed for a group of 6 persons, this is how it happened: I was talking with my friends right in the front of my house and suddenly (REAAALLY suddently) a group of 6 persons came and asked me to do a magic trick (one of them was a guy that already saw me doing some magic, he told them that I was a magician !), one of them was pretty agressive, you know, the typical guy that wants to challenge you, he even said: "come on, magic man make a coin appear on my mouth, can you?" that's probably the most funny thing that happened to my while doin magic!, so I decided to try quick silver on him, I did coin from head followed with coin on shoulder and finally coin to watch, and well, that was REALLY easy, wow, I mean, I didn't think such trick was going to be THAT easy. Soooooooo yeah. I wanted to share that. As well I want to ask if it's ok to do coin from head to a group of 3-10 I mean, it went perfect on me but maybe I had luck, soooo had you guys performed coin from head to big groups ? I just told them "come here guys look at this, watch closely" and the reactions were great ! -Daniel |

I've never performed it for more than 3 or 4 people. I'm not sure if I can misdirect more than 5 for this particular move.
Maybe it was luck, maybe it was well executed.. You 'll find it out next time

In my lecture notes I have a nice routine using a purse frame for this specific production.
IMO, almost EVERY magician I see do this always look up after it appears. It's just something that happens without thinking about it. However, when using a purse frame, all the attention is brought into...well...frame (pardon the pun). So in this case, simply have two coins FP'd in the LH and 1 coin FP'd in the RH. Allow them to examine the purse frame and use this moment to casually load the RH coin on top. All you need to do is take the frame back, open it, remove each of the two coins one at a time and then draw a LOT of attention to the interior of the frame. Open that sucker WIDE up and hold it at the corners with the fingertips. When you're ready, use your fingers to flip the purse over and slightly lean forward. The coin will fall and when done properly, will fall through the opening of the mouth of the frame. Timing is crucial here but the appearance is truly startling for the audience. Enjoy! |

To make the coin appear I normally just take an imaginary coin from the air and place it into the spec's hands, they always follow my hand...and yes, I do look up lol, you know, it's like saying that the coin fell from the sky in a non-verbal way. |
