Hi fellow magicians,
I just got a call from the theatre in the town I am living in. They asked me if I could present the new theatre brochure, with all the information of the new shows that come this year, in a magical way on stage for a full (400 people) crowd. Do you have any ideas guys? How would you do a 'trick' with the brochure/magazine? Or how would you present it? Maybe a magic coloring book style routine? I´m just wondering if you would have to do this. What would you do? I'm hoping I can get some advice from you guys. It has to fit in 15 minutes of time. Thank you in advance. |

Are you looking for magic (tear and restore) or mind reading (magazine memory, etc)?
Memorise the magazine, then engage a few members of the audience - ask them to pick a page of the brochure, think of a word or image. Read their minds about the word or the picture, and then reveal which show they are looking at in the brochure. Take a moment to quickly talk up that particular show, then do it again with someone else. At the end, close with something that involves a lot of people, and leave them with a well-scripted line based on the idea that "You are all welcome to join us for a magical season full of amazement. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at some of our many shows".

I've just checked your site. You are a magician and would be best served asking magicians, not mentalists. You are from another culture and would be better served asking people familliar with that culture if that theater is in said culture. That said, what is your budget for consulting on material for your gig?
