Aaaaaarrrrgghhhhhhh no Android...
Myke, please make your and Salah's apps available for Android (If not you will force me to say NI ! to you!) I once owned iUnlockyourmind and an iPhone but nowadays have a Galaxy S4 and do miss the app. A lot of people in Europe use Android because of the flexibility. Is it more expensive/difficult to program? (just curious). |

Hi Ken Lam,
Sorry haven't been here much so only just noticed your question. Works well on 4S. Bietfriek, it's very expensive to develop our Apps on android. It's a lot of time, hard work and we don't think it will be profitable in the end. The problem with iUnlockYourMind on android is that there are different lock screen and passcode screen designs so it's like building another 2 or 3 Apps. Also, I know there are apparently a lot more android users than iPhone users but I just wonder if there aren't as many magicians using androids as iPhones? Myke X |

On Apr 12, 2014, mykephillips wrote: I've just bought this and to be honest, I don't think Ben is being unreasonable at all. The instructions are terrible; you've had this app on the store for over a year yet they are still shocking. There's no point in listing the spelling mistakes here because there are so many. I appreciate you may not be an 'English Major' but I don't think that's necessary for anyone to learn basic spelling. You even call "Twitter" "Tweeter" everywhere! Please - fix the spelling mistakes. Actually some of the writing IS reasonable - so I do wonder if the text was written by two people and then cut and pasted together into a single document? The instructions are very hard to follow; they seem to jump around and I've yet to understand how to set my home screen photo as the background screen for the effect; there's nothing in the Settings screen to do this and the only mention of this in the instructions is that you should just "do it" - until you find that this is explained much later on. You say the instructions are detailed and I'd agree - but they're not structured; they leap around all over the place in a very non-linear fashion and make it very hard to understand what's going on unless they're read in their entirety, digested, re-assembled and then... and only then do they begin to make sense! You're probably thinking that like Ben, I'm being picky. You may even be a little bit offended - please don't be - I'm trying to help: Here's the thing - if I buy a book I'll usually spot one or two mistakes; it's extremely hard to write a long manuscript perfectly even when you have proofreaders. However, if I encounter more than a few errors I begin to lose faith in the author; if they don't care enough about the quality of their writing to have someone proof-read it then just how much care will they have taken with their research and the conclusions they draw? Or in this case, how much care about the application itself - and this is evident in the 'Map' screen where you refer to the Spades as 'Spade' as in '6 of Spade'. This just jars me and after a year, these kinds of mistakes shouldn't exist. But... Here's the good bit... I fought past the instructions (for the Social Prediction effect at least; I don't currently have enough energy left to battle the rest of the instructions!) to find that this is REALLY, REALLY GOOD. The method has many brilliant moments; the way in which the prediction appears on your Facebook wall is excellent and the way in which (for the Hands Off approach) the information is relayed is really commendable. So despite my rant about the instructions, I feel this is well worth the investment and recommend this application. However the buyer should be aware that until the instructions are rewritten, there will be an initial struggle. It is worth it though. Jamie

Just encountered a big problem with this... if you don't set up a thumbnail then the picture appears on your wall - which is great the first time but subsequent times, the image remains the same. The solution as per the instructions is to create a thumbnail showing a part of the image that doesn't reveal the card - which I've done... but when you do this, the link no longer shows as an image on your wall - it remains a link. This is a serious drawback; any chance you can look at this, Myke, and let us know if it's fixable? Sean has the same problem by the looks of things... this really needs to show an image on the wall in order to be effective.
I'd ask on the Facebook page but it doesn't seem to be inactive? All I can see on there is one image and spam for some food thing. There's no 'Join Group' option or anything so it's not created as a closed group... if there's a community of owners of this app discussing it, I'd really like to talk about it there rather than here... Cheers, Jamie

OK jamy I well lok in To dem anD fis it.
Kidding Aside, the instructions were written a while ago and I have sent a message to Salah saying that I will restructure them and fix the spelling mistakes. It is very important that we give the right impression and show that we do care about our product because we do. We have exceptional Apps we just need to go the extra mile with the instructions. Apologies to all for this as it is not acceptable. Myke X |

All,
This is a great app. I am not sure what you are having problems with. I do not use the hands off method. There is so much midi reaction that no one notices that you even touched the phone. If you want to do a celebrity Smartass type effect then have a deck of blank cards and write different names on them. The one they pick is the prediction. You can even use photos or words. I also have placed locations and songs on the back of a red backed card. When they pick the face up card I have them turn it over. Once they do the dirty work is already done. I also can program it to the wine list or menu at the restaurants I work at. It is becoming my favorite app. I am happy to help if you are having problems with it. You can even use your business cards. Write on the back a number of things and hand out your card at the end as a souvenir. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Patrick |
