I would stick with a static line for this effect.

Yes, Static line is the way to go. If you find stripping thread tedious, you just haven't done it enough Most thread users can peel off a strand in no time at all. There is a great product out called Joe Joe's Web Spinner

The Static line is the best way to go. You just have to keep working with it. Practice every chance you get.
