I am headed to San Francisco in a few weeks for vacation and I would love to include some magic on the trip, whether that be street performers or more formal. What would you all recommend I see in the area?

Visit Misdirections Magic shop near Golden Gate Park. Contact, he should know what is happening while you are there. If you will be there over a weekend and have transportation, check out California Magic Dinner Theatre in Martinez (about 30 miles north on the east side of the bay) . I believe there are still at least two other magic shows playing on a weekly basis, but I have net seen them. Also check out around Pier 39 & Fisherman's Warf for street performers. Finally, there is a Houdini's Magic shop on Pier 39. It may be worth a look if you are at the pier already.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

TONS of magic to see in San Francisco every week:

Walt Anthony's "San Francisco Magic Parlor" every Th/Fr/Sat
Peter Morrison's "Marrakech Magic Theater" every Th/Fr/Sat/Sun
"Magic at the Rex" at the Rex Hotel, Saturday nights
Timothy Noonan's "San Francisco Magic Show" at the Aquarium of the Bay theater at Pier 39, Sat/Sun

In addition, you can see Fred Anderson, Ryan Kane, Big Al Catraz, Reed Kirk Rahlmann and Captain Jack Spareribs on the Pier 39 stage

Dennis Kyriakos has been doing his "Conjuring Wonder" show on the first Thursday of the month at the Prescott Hotel. You can check him out on Facebook for announcements of upcoming shows.

In other parts of the Bay Area, there's the aforementioned California Magic Dinner Theater in Martinez, with shows Fri/Sat and Dan Chan's "Bay Area Dinner Show" in Cupertino and Oakland

Get a croissant at tartines (or anything they have). Literally the best croissants in SF. As far as magic, I dunno. =P its 600 Guerrero street, and expect a few minutes waiting in line in the morning. It's magic for your taste buds.
