"Copyright 2003" on the video, so 11 years ago. I'm guessing the non-deceptive base with the non-deceptive stairs was a concept that just didn't ever catch on.

Normally, the stair is remove during the effect, 2 assistants in the base, + magician remove, (3 persons) and all the base is 7 pouces.. standard. if you Watch with me, you can see the 7 pouces for the 2 levels... the interest is the illusion change is form during the effect, during the magician is going to the audience, the magician or an assistant enters the illusion by the top, and takes place in the illusion, then we move forward the illusion on stage to free(release) the staircase, we turn completely the illusion on her even, later we spread sides to make a pyramid, we open doors in front of and behind to show the completely empty illusion, we turn it again on her even, we close doors, we fold up sides, and we reveal a 1st assistant, then one second, meanwhile, the magician or the initial assistant reappears in the audience. This model goes in Cabaret, I will have a video on the effect in one month I think

Chris,
In trying to keep this thread somewhat positive and constructive; I would suggest that you do more research before designing and/or building illusions. I would suggest a good study of this work: http://hamiltonholtinc.stores.yahoo.net/newconinilde.html Sincerely, David

No concerns base built on the plans of Illusions Work, feet are a choice in touch with triangles, it was build for an order, but it doesn't matter, will continue us to look at stews which some sell on magic auction to exorbitant prices and looking like nothing but I shall be interested to see what some of you create and at which price so. Good day

I don't get it! Why the making a triangular prism? Whys that line at the top of the rectangle different thickness in the middle part?
I just can't see the magic. I can't explain why it just doesn't sit well with me. I'm no builder or illusion plan reader....so looking at it like a spectator and I just done feel anything other than a disconcerting feeling of why.... |

Maybe it's some kind of storage container. Seems to be plenty of room. :-(

Oh dear! Aint youse guys got no taste?
Just consider what building that work of art has done for the plywood industry! --And, the hinge factories! --And the paint manufacturers? I guess that I'll call my agent and tell him to forget about getting me any dates. (How could I possibly compete against such a beautiful prop? (Didn't youse take note of the good taste in decoration? --Not a single Chinese character! Ssee! he's "p.c."! Plus! You probably didn't even notice the marvelous choreography of the stage hand who demonstrated all those hinges. Oh dear, what is to become of us? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Retired assistants off the Blackstone (pere) show would tell other magicians: "Sure I was on the Blackstone show! --Wanna see my truss? Only aa few old timers know that those assistants had scratched an "X" on the heavy end of all those orange crates! (The "X" was the heavy end. (Guess which end the new assistant got to pick up on load in/out days!) Jay Marshall has been quoted (at least here and now) as declaring, "The COAT OF ARMS of a 40 miler illusionist is a TRUSS--RAMPANT on a station wagon!"
