Would agree to Tomsk192. I assumed palming coins were for stage. So if they are thin, light weighted, visible, easy to palm, with good sound, that would meet the fundamental requirements. I don't think anyone would notice the eyes from 3 or 4 feet away.

Well.... This is the reason we do prototypes before we release something lol. Just caught a typo on the back that needs fixed before they are mass produced!

What is your preference on the weight of the coin? If you're palming a stack of coins, is the lightest weight most important, or the sound the coins make when dropping into a pail, as with misers dream? I have the ability to do them in aluminum or zinc alloy. The aluminum version is feather light and the zinc alloy version has a stronger metal "clink" sound when falling in a pail due to the heavier weight.

You a funny dude.
I've been watching this string and I truly think you are not listening to the greater silence here. This sorta thing has already been done as to palming coins really, or at least for what people might use them for. They really aren't used much by coin guys, and if coin guys ain't using them much, then that should tell you something as to coin guys and others that don't do coin magic, which we are outnumbered 10-1, maybe more. You can basically get the fake Morgan dollars out there and do the same things (cheaper), not to mention most coins guys don't do Misers Dream nowadays, truth be told. But I do agree mostly with Stperformer here that most times it don't matter what coins you use, just use them well. Specs don't care whether they are real or not, they mostly respond to the magic you do with them. That said, you're about to simply put some more coins out on the market amongst the hundreds already there, assigning them a specific purpose and importance that really most folks don't care much about really. Not to mention that most coin guys don't like Ikes or Ike-looking dollars. Did you know that (That would be some important market research, I would think as to all this)? Now, if you were to sell these at 25-50cents each, you might sell some, but a similar looking real Ike dollar will cost you a dollar at the bank. I know your coins are "special" coins, but not really to those that might buy them, maybe…Especially once they compare them to what's out there or whether its even necessary for what they want to do. Now, you sound like you talk better than you listen, and you seem to have a quick guip or seeming disregard to anything you don't care to factor into what you want to do (here or anywhere else probably), and that's great as it helps to have a good sense of persistence and humor about all this sometimes. Anyway, the coins ain't bad for what they look like they are, but they don't look any much better than that as to other available coins, so people's necessity as to this will probably be pretty luke warm, and more polite than anything else. On the other hand, I hope I'm wrong and you make a $zillion dollars on this and become as synonymous to coin magic as J.B. Bobo. I figure someone with such a good sense of humor and determination could appreciate that. There, I said it. And with that, welcome to the Café, and good luck with your project.

Actually, I think there is probably currently a lack of a "good" palming coin in production right now. I know that there are plenty of cards for stage manipulators but coins come into and out of production and some of the older palming coins fetch a good price because they are not made, you can palm twice as many of them as you can real coins or fit 2x as many in your coin dropper thingy.
I don't think this is the correct forum for this topic though. I think it belongs in the stage section. |

Thanks Shaun. The whole reason we minted them was because Magic City was having a hard time finding a supplier for them. Our company mints coins so it was an easy fix to mint them.
