I received the most beautiful card and 2 pages of inspirational messages on a handwritten note today. It was totally unexpected and I've been on cloud nine since. I haven't come back down from the euphoria and probably won't for some time.
I should explain that one of my former coworkers dropped by today at work for a visit since he left last year on early retirement. His wife was offered a wonderful job as CEO of the Jane Goodall foundation and they both relocated to another area. He was in town and dropped in to see us all. "I have something for you", he announced and handed me a card from the foundation. I was thrilled! I once told him, "as a 10 year old I read a National Geographic mag and told everyone that would listen that I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I've never been one to be star struck with the exception of this amazing lady. She was my role model and hero. I adore her! Her work, inspired me to get involved in animal rescue and as a result open an animal sanctuary. The years Terry and I were co-workers I often brought photos of recent rescues or shared their stories. He especially liked hearing about my one eyed , three legged pets and of those of Stevie, the guinea pig with neurological problems who was flown halfway around the country by pilots who often take animals to forever homes. Stevie ended up living with me. Unknown to me, Terry and his wife shared some of these stories with none other than the grand lady herself on their long flights. I open the beautiful card and then started crying.....written inside was a beautiful letter from my hero- Jane Goodall!!! "From one animal lover to another she wrote......." Terry convinced me to send her back a photo of when I dressed as Jane Goodall for Halloween at our school one year surrounded by Goblins and Monsters as I was the tour guide at our Haunted House. He said she'd get a kick out of that. https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho......53E6062F |

Cool. I love the look and feel of fine handwriting. I hand write card tricks which I am learning as it tends to stick to brain better.

How wonderful!! To have our heroes is one thing. Meeting them is yet another. But, to have them acknowledge us surely must be the best!

Nice story Chrystal!
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |
