We busked our beach Promenade last night, planned an hour, but not much traffic. Left after 30 mins.
In our "hat" we found $2.00 plus four (weathered) Bank of Pakistan 1.000 Rupee notes! We thought we had been pranked, but took them to a Currency Exchange, surprise, surprise, all is good! We live in an area with a large south Asian community, but are an awful long way from Pakistan. Thank you! |

So a bit over $40 US? Nice.
Well done and thanks for sharing...hearing busking tasked like this always brightens the day.

You know, folks from the 'Land of the Rupee' are really quite easy-going, happy people.
In fact, the name of their country is directly related to this! Many years ago, being such a poor land, the Cinemas could only afford ONE film(!), Day for day, week for week, year for year,.. "Sons of the Sahara", with Laurel and Hardy, was constantly played! Poor children, growing up,.. poor adults, already grown up,.. veiwed the film, over and over,.. for years. Laurel and Hardy became roll models, something to aspire for. Idols. Being a poor land, with poverty, famine, hunger, and starvation; you know, their weren't to many Olli's(!). Still, the boys, the men,.. were inspired. Christopher Colombus, landed on their shores, officially discovering the country; that, not even the inhabitants knew existed,.. masses of natives gathered to greet him! As he looked out into the masses, he turned to his first mate and said, "My god! What do we have here!?!, ,.. a whole,.. pack a Stans!!!" ,. . . ., True Knowledge, comes from being close to the source. ,..hey! where's everyone going?!? Stop! Wait a minute!! Don't leave!! ...no one's clicked "Like this Post",.. yet!! i don't know why I put up with this... gallagher. |

Devious, It's nice to have you back too, you were missed!
Gallagher, I live in an area where the demographics have changed immensely over the years. The world is much smaller now thanks to technology. Most audiences are mini-united nations! Also I loved Laurel & Hardy!!! Nala |
