Galina is someone who inspired me long ago.

Her full name was Galina Strutinskaya and she
was born in the Ukraine when it was still The
Soviet Union.

She appeared on The World's Greatest Magicians in
the 80's. It was her first and only time appearing
on U.S. Television.

I was most fascinated not only with her theme song,
but the fact that most folks didn't expect that she
would rise along with the ball during this act.

Her gorgeous mane reminded me of Nicollette Larson's
lovely hair. Nicollette was famous for her song, "Lotta Love."
These days Galina looks like she could be Mila Jovovitch's
mother eh?

I used to watch this clip over and over as if in trance,
perhaps it was the music, but I suspect it was a combo
of both her beauty and the beats.

I managed to track her down after years of trying just to
thank her and also ask her about her theme song.

She emailed me back after six years of trying and
told me that her theme song "Flying" was composed
by a fan and later edited by Ryan Oullette son of
the now deceased Gary.

She wrote that she married an English Comedian,
Sonny Hayes and together they created an act.
They moved to Australia after her first child was born.

If you have never seen her, you are in for a real treat.

Footnote:
There was a rumour several years back that Galina was in
fact Charlotte Pendragon since no one could locate or get
ahold of Galina and also they both performed barefooted,
but this was just a rumour started by Morgan. Charlotte
was not pleased at all and Galina when told said, "Who?"

She has aged wonderfully,
