Dave, a joke is not a joke if it's explained. I should have Americanized it and done it in the three steps,"here's comes a joke, tell them joke, and then say when to laugh" or done a drum roll at the end so the listener knew what had happened.
this thread will describe the above without the drum roll YET , and after 500 or more posts................. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=32

Thanks a lot for all the replies! I was wondering if there was anything you would want to see someone attempt who was strapped in for 14 days? Might appear in one of the videos!

Do the 100 foot rope escape!
I would love to see you change a tyre on a car (you would of course have to get through airport security and fly on a plane to the UK to do this one [or any other country that spoke and spelt English correctly ]) paint a colour picture (again in the UK) make some of the **** ripped off magic from the ****** **** web site. I know we could get you to raise some money for a charity. How about www.steps-charity.org.uk? |

Hi MarkTricksMagic, In your video, you show yourself climbing and straddling over a urinal and being teased with a piece of pizza. I am just wondering if this is going to be a comedic slap stick set of videos and that is your USP for this charity.

Great suggestions Jay. I'd love to try to change a tire. Mostly because I have no knowledge and I'm sure the jacket would get nice and dirty.
Hello Ian. Yes the videos are supposed to be fun in nature. Parkinson's is a very serious disease so in no way am I trying to say that by spending two weeks in a straitjacket I have any idea what it's like to have Parkinson's. I am just trying any way I can to promote interest for the stunt so we can raise to most money, and so far the videos are leading me to some fairly comical events. |

Hi I initially thought the SJ was to represent the difficulty of Parkinson's. When I looked at your video, I thought otherwise to which you have confirmed. Comic relief does offer an easier way to look at difficult and confronting issues.
I don’t know if this would add to your idea (or kill it off completely) but what about having a side-kick with a shirt saying ”possible cure” who can help during those awkward moments. (kind of like your safety officer in disguise) When you really get stuck in a very public and before getting to much grief from any audience (if it was to happen) you could call out. “‘If only there was a possible cure” and he/she could come to your assistant. as for things to do, “set a table for a function dinner’

Think Ians comment has hit the nail on the head there, Your going to need back up and support if your doing this for the time scale stated, and theres a real need for people with Parkinsons (Who I work with) to have the support of others as well as how important there medication is. Jays also gave you valuble insight in to getting this promoted.
And hes right about the Kilt idea, But it only works if your a true Scotsman like my self !!!
Impossible is just another level of difficulty

I love that idea, or something to that effect. The only way this stunt is possible (like fighting Parkinson's) is with a lot of love and support.
Also I can't wait to try to set a table. Mom hide the China... Thanks for the insight. |
