Ed, how are people at learning from history as more than justification for current sentiments?

Recall that we effectively stood down from striking in Syria due to the lack of support and an effective online campaign against our involvement. Our forces in the theatre stand ready to strike but public support for our involvement is just not there. The clamoring about rising fuel costs is a campaign by the media to get folks here angry enough to accept our involvement. I work on occasion for defense contractors, thus I don't readily post my opinion on these matters. I post my thoughts here with great trepidation; but for the loss of the good men that I not only served with but lost in Iraq. Once we start chasing them down in Iraq, we will follow them right into Syria. None of this has to do with either party. It's about American lives. The Iraqi Government asked us to leave. Once again, would you return to risk life and limb after being shown the door? It's dangerous ground for us to go into Syria because Russia will not let us remain there unopposed. The first casualty of any war is always the truth. |

But who was it who signed the agreement mandating the removal of all American forces from Iraq by the end of 2011? It was George W. Bush. When the time arrived, the Maliki government was determined to get all American troops out, and refused to negotiate a new agreement without putting American troops at the mercy of the Iraqi justice system — something no American president would ever have accepted." History is, if you want to get a job done, then lie. 20 years later it does matter if the truth comes out. By then they are all dead or all their hair and teeth have fell out, from the cancer caused by exposure to the depleted uranium munitions, which you gave them to get the job done. When you want to get the next job done, then lie again to the next crop of suckers.

Al-Qaeda have taken the Jordanian border, a key artery for goods and passengers to Baghdad and many other important strategic places, like Iraq's biggest oil refinery and an airport etcetera. I suspect it was us who just killed the government top general, to path the way for what I expect to see next, which is a coup d'état organised by us. After which we will go back in to save the planet from Al-Qaeda who we trained and armed to take Siria. In the mean time food and gas prices are going to rocket.

? The ISIS crisis is a false flag operation? Just a sweepup of extremists to motivate the locals to embrace more British/US assistance? Paid for by some futures speculation on food and gasoline prices? No ... can't be... that's just too pat.

Iraqi butterflies have already caused global oil prices to rise by 6 percent in this week. At that rate the price would double in about 7 weeks.

That was a great video Devious. I can say for certain that I wouldn't want to go back there again. Our democracy experment there failed. If it worked then the people would want it and fight for it. The Iraqi army grossly outnumbers the ISIS fighters, but it seems as though they won't stand and fight them. If they did not have the means to fight them then I wouldn't mind going again to join the fight. They have the means but not the will. I believe if we went again it would just be more of the same, and it would be a lot more lives and money wasted.

Which of his own agreements didn't he follow? (That he wasn't prevented from following by GOP obstruction.)

I think that to elaborate would earn me a trip to the SHU (for "Orange is he New Black" fans) from which I might not return, so we'll just pretend that was just a little joke.

Probing Syria for a response perhaps.
This strike occurred just a few hours ago. It is getting little to no coverage in Israel. It's very hard to imagine all of this over one teenager. This is not meant to sound insensitive to the youth, but this has serious ramifications. This basically spits in Putin's face. It's quite possible that ISIS members may have perpetuated the slaying disguised as Syrians to instigate Israel's attack, thereby weakening Syria for it's own strikes. If Syria responds it will open the gates of wrath. |

Can some one please just phone the CIA and ask them if we are going to get any cheap oil or not.

I just don't think the people there really want democracy and the Middle East has always been a mess and always will be no matter what. American lives are simply too precious to be wasted on people who never wanted us there and never will want our help and had never been willing to fight for a more free and just society in Iraq. Besides, the Iraqi government made clear they didn't want our troops there anyway, so they should have to fend for themselves now. They have no right or business asking for our help given that they asked that our troops leave, so they just need to fight their own battles. If any terrorist attacks are launched from Iraq if ISIS were to take over, then throwing a few nukes their way should settle the problem. It would make clear to the world we are just not going to tolerate terrorist attacks on our soil anymore and that an extremely high price will be extracted in return if we suffer another terrorist attack from Middle East extremists. We can't just simply keep sending troops back over there just because the Iraqis can't get their act together and we certainly cannot tolerate another 9/11 just because the Iraqis can't get their act together either.
