Not normally a Coin Man, but interested in a few Coin items. One being the Flying Coins, but would like to find a Brass Flying Coins set. Does anyone still make these in Brass, or sell the Brass version?

Not interested in the low cost plastic versions, but I do see a few Khin Wood Flying Coins versions out there that look pretty nice, but would like to find the Brass.

The brass one's are very hard to find.

Yes, that's what I'm finding out myself. I guess I just have to keep watching the big auction site if no one is making these anymore. Thanks...

OK, I was looking for a Brass Flying Coin set, couldn't find one, so I did purchase a Cambodian Hardwood Flying Coin set off the big auction site. Well these two cups arrived, and they do not retain a coin at all, not even close. I tried Quarters and Half Dollars, nothing works. Every coin dumps out as the cup is getting close to the upside down position. They don't even come close to working like they are supposed to. These will never be used at all, because they just simply don't work.

My question is this, does anyone own a Wooden Flying Coin Set that does work? Or did I just buy a cheaply made knock off of this trick?

On the bright side, I now at least have a set of Candle Holders I can give my wife for her Birthday next week, even if I did over pay for them as cheap Wooden Candle Holders.

Wow. You must really love your wife to put so much effort into her birthday. That's one lucky lady....

Brass gets pricey in the diameter you need to do a little cup like that. Also, if you drop it on a hard surface and it lands 'wrong' you'll dent it making it useless. A plastic one painted with metallic brass paint and dry brushed or black washed would look like metal and fool people until they touched it.

My wife just bought me a beautiful wooden set from Hocus Pocus in their gently used Magic category and these are beautiful wooden ones from exotic wood I don't know what kind of wood to be honest with you but they work perfectly well. I read this post earlier when these cups were ordered and I called Max at Hocus Pocus to explain to him how some of these from what I hear may not work real well so he checked them out for me first gave me the thumbs-up and then sent them to me I received them today and they are absolutely beautiful and very very functional and work very well. So I'm thinking you may have actually had a knock off brand. And you are right it sure seems these are very hard to come by nowadays for some reason I don't know why.

Good magic to all,

Eric
