Having lived in both Rhode Island and California for awhile, I can say... yeah. I lived in Virgina, but only for a few years and don't remember it all that well.

There is a rather famous manga/anime out there called "Hetalia Axis Powers" which shows World War II as if the countries involved were individual people, Germany is strict and orderly, Italy is fun loving and wants nothing more than wine and spaghetti and Japan sits in the corner, drinking tea and wondering why it signed an agreement with these two. (Incidentily (sp) America is a guy in a leather flight jacket eating hamburgers, annoying England and taking credit for everything.)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1356878/?ref_=nv_sr_1 There is also a webcomic which takes the same premise and puts it in the nordic countries; http://satwcomic.com/sweden-denmark-and-norway In this one, America comes off as a big kid who means well but doesn't always understand what's going on. He also frequently wears Canada for a hat. (In the course of the comic, someone points out that he's getting darker as his population becomes more black and Latino! This upsets him for some reason!) The reason I bring these up is... this article would make a great premise for a comic! U.S. High or something like that. I can neither write nor draw with any competence, so I won't be the one to do it. But it would be awesome.

Doesn't one of your children draw comics? I thought I remembered you saying that.

I found another map on Facebook that shows state by state correlation to horror movies. It was pretty cool, but I can't find the correct image to post here.
