"The Itinerant Mystic" is our publication on an early "how-to" course written for traveling mediums and psychic readers who went from city to city plying their trade. In addition to revealing how these mystics set up shop and promoted their business, it also explains the closely-guarded methods behind their readings. These include two highly deceptive billet switches which rely more on timing and misdirection than manipulation, an outline of the skeleton reading framework along with an effective, full length sample reading, plus a proven spiel used by palm readers, and more. 23 pages. Just got this. Super fun read so far and what a great insight into the history of professional readers.

Just downloaded it, I will have a read tomorrow when I have some free time, at a glance seems like a good read.

Found some time and had a read. Some good information on advertising in here however I feel it is more suited to someone just starting to do readings. I think experienced readers would find little to interest them, just my opinion.

I love the Nelson era stuff.
I don't think there is a ton of stuff that directly applies directly to todays modern reader, but I love the history of it and I think there really are some gems spread throughout that can be helpful. I was interested to learn about the two standard types of readings and they're respective lengths. I think that whole structure, and the traveling nature of the psychic, gave me insight into how the stock readings that are prevalent in the literature of the time might actually be workable. Of course trickshop has some great Nelson titles as ebooks and, just in case anyone doesn't already know (for shame!) about the mevproshop (FREE!) releases, ...check this out: http://www.mevproshop.com/nelson-reissues.html These are really really cool! AH SO!
It was the first of a three parter, ...tricky. I missed the promotional price on the second installment (MORE secrets of an itinerant mystic), but it's still cheap and I just downloaded it and the third, and last, installment (FURTHER secrets of an itinerant mystic). Yay!

Who wrote the books? It sounds to me like a reprint of old material whose copyrights have expired.

You can find the same material, along with more material in the Magnuson cd that Miracle Factory is selling.

It looks like Trickshop is crediting the original authors. Annemann, Gen Grant, Teral Garrett, Syd Bergson, Robt. Nelson, etc. all with appropriate credits. Maybe the "Itinerant Mystic" series was published anonymously?

I m confused about the lack of crediting as well.
I assumed it was anonymously published as well, but as was pointed out to me... Well let's just say I recommend that anyone interested buy this: http://miraclefactory.net/zenstore/index......s_id=143

If the Trickshop release is by Magnuson, it should certainly be credited as such. I second Courtney's recommendation of the Miracle Factory's CD collection of the Magnuson writings. It is an important part of mentalism history.

If Magnuson was the creator of the "Itinerant Mystic" material he absolutely should be credited.
Trickshop does put out a lot of copyright-expired stuff (as do Marketplace of the Mind and others). They seem to behave appropriately when it comes to crediting far as I can tell, and a lot of their stuff is worthwhile (although it doesn't exactly make me happy to see some rare item I spent a couple of years tracking down and paid real money for back in the day suddenly becoming available to everyone for $4.95 or such). |

What "copyright expired stuff" is available at Marketplace of the Mind. I'm not aware of any.

That makes more sense. Whether or not 13 Steps qualifies, Marketplace of the Mind hasn't released its own electronic version of the original work.He simply retails the standard version that's long been available from wholesaler and published by D. Robbins & Co.; TENTH PRINTING edition (1996).
