As a young boy we would go to a close friend's house for Christmas. Ham was the traditional dish that my 'Aunt' Mary served. Every year my 'Uncle' Tom assured my mother that it was kosher.

I suppose as a concession to our visit, there was always a Jewish Rye on the table, complete with the paper seal certifying that it was indeed kosher.
