Shawn, look into a VPN service.
Find one that also is big on privacy, like ProXPN, as they are good to use in general now adays.

Can this be performed surrounded? I perform sometimes on a stage the seating all around but at least 15 feet away.

Basically you the performer stand stage right - back to back with spectator. Watch the video and all is there for performance. There are few limitations with this great product but it would not be for strolling or being surrounded generally. If you were strolling and could place the audience about 10 ft away facing you straight on... then maybe.

By surrounded I mean no one directly behind you or looking over shoulders etc.

What you see is what you get. It seems obvious what is happening here, but BOOM... he seems to disprove it. So the audience gets a double dose of entertainment...the "we're in on the gag" bit, and the "huh? what just happened?" kicker ending. |

Would not recommend for a strolling/close-up situation. You'd be more likely to encounter the "let me see those books" personalities then in a parlor, platform or stage environment. I have it. Love it. And will be using it in a stage show in 3 months.

As stated above it is a parlour or stage piece, you can do it close-up but really the whole look and feel to me is stage or parlour. It's in stock in the UK you can check it out here http://www.saturnmagic.co.uk/new-magic/s......har.html

I agree with others here. Received this yesterday and really like it. As everyone stated this is very simple to perform. If what you see in the demo video fits your personality you won't be disappointed if you buy it.

Question about the no strolling reasoning here.
Is the "concern" over the duel reality part, where in the volunteeris nto seeing what everyone else is? Or is it related to the kicker finale?

Glen:
It is the kicker more or less - related to the nature of the g*****k which is fairly unique and clever

Interesting. You've got me more curious now, lol. When Shawn shows us at CAM, he was working on, I suspect, from what I am hearing/seeing now, a different method for the finale.

Shawn goes through the entire history of the effect and the gestation of the current method on the DVD.
Some of the actual performances clips shown on the DVD most from cruise ships (6 or 7 as I recall) show use the earlier method - and then some demos show the current (superior) version.

Cool. I really like that. Why shouldn't video be utilized to show the development of an effect or routine?

Yes I agree and I thought it was a cool idea - by seeing the earlier performance and final product - it helps to understand the creator's thinking and also to provide a springboard for ideas by saying multiple [erformances and audience reactions.

It's such a great effect with so much comedy potential in every way, I can't wait to see the other language versions coming out.
Does anybody knows, when this is going to be the case? Thanks. Oliver. |

Will the book pass scrutiny by a sherlockian?
By which I mean, is it the actual stories? Or are they adapted? I have a number of Sherlock based routines that I could use this with you see.

Shawn's title is The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes." The table of contents introduces five of Doyle's Sherlock short stories. Every page appears to be from one of those short stories.

You would not want a card-carrying Sherlockian, or any other educated reader, to spend extensive time with the book but, in the context of the routine, the spectator handling the book will assume it is totally the real deal.
