Oppenheimer thought that nuking Japan might prevent all war in the future. To a degree I think he was correct for I can't recall two nuclear powers declaring war on each other since. They tend to fight each other in sneaky ways. As was the case in setting up Al Quiada to destroy the USSR. The USSR could have nuked Afghanistan. This would have been a war crime now I believe but do not know.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

@ W_S_ Anderson - How dare you accuse me of being a pot stirrer!

@ Private Magician - I truly wish you didn't care so much! Your posts would be much easier to read with a lot less rambling. I'm sorry you have PTS, but what on earth does that have to do with this thread? I respect what you did for our country, I don't respect your opinions or your points of view. Well I respect your ideas on myfitnesspal.com and some of your investment ideas. You have proven to be a very closed minded individual on here. And you are correct, I won't try to listen to your point of view on why it would be ok to nuke Afghanistan. That shows that you are just as fundamentalist as those you were fighting......and as an American that is pretty sad.

You know why I chose the name General_Magician don't you? It's because I am not a specialist magician like specializing in cards or coins. Rather I am a general practitioner who does a variety of different tricks. When I first signed up I had no intention of revealing I was a veteran but Devious spotted me out. He has a nose for his own kind. I never told him I was a vet but he spotted out my PTSD symptoms and knew that I was a vet and called me out. So, my cover was blown. I was just going to keep it about magic. You put me in a state of depression and my wife had to get me going again. She is my caretaker in a funny kind of way. When people unknowingly hit my PTSD buttons I go into outer space and I can't process what people are telling me and I have trouble operating or carrying on my daily tasks and thinking.

So she has to help me operate and kind of do some of the simple tasks since I have trouble remembering things and my mind goes blank (seriously no joke) and I have trouble thinking or processing what people are telling me or communicating back to them. Sometimes I will communicate back to them things I never intended to say and it makes no sense. She also has to get me motivated and out of my depression too when my PTSD is triggerred and I go into a depression. She helps get me through my day and she made me go to my restaurant gig. I rarely ever miss my restaurant gig and she went with me to be supportive. There are three things that keep me going in this world AAM: PTSD pills that the VA prescribed, wife and magic. My wife knows that as well. Without the three I would be doomed. So after my restaurant gig I felt so much better. Isn't magic awesome and a miracle what it can do for people? It sure does help my PTSD. When things are really rough, I can count on magic to turn things around for me. What would I do without magic? I would be doomed.

You don't have to agree with me. It's cool. It's what makes America great. You have a right to your opinion. Tell your cousin I said stay safe and watch himself and his buddies.

General, if your buttons get pushed easily I would recommend that you avoid the NVMS section of the Café, or at least avoid military related threads or whatever topics have a tendency to trigger your PTS. If this forum puts you in that bad of a funk then it probably not very healthy for your mental state given all of the notorious button pushers that hang out here. A lot of people debate and argue as a sport and really don't get upset about it. It is difficult to gauge if you are engaging in a "spirited" debate, or if your PTS (I refuse to call it a disorder, it is a natural phenomena as a result of the affected individuals experience) is acting up. This is merely a suggestion given what you have stated.

I think you are right AAM. I just wanted to be normal like everybody else. But, I think it's for the best. Anyway, I also forget to mention my dog, Brillo. He keeps me going too! My dog Brillo is awesome! I love him to death! He is an animal rescue dog and my wife and I take very good care of him. My wife is a huge animal lover. So, he helps me out too. Dogs are awesome!

It is no secret that I am somewhat of a "Provocateur" on here. I didn't mean to set off your PTS....I was just being has hard headed as you.....lol. I am very glad that you are receiving help and are staying social. Now it won't be any fun going head to head with you. Smile If I had known that I was setting off your PTS I wouldn't have "played" so hard. Please accept my apologies, and pass them along to your wife.

PTS is one thing. Refusing to learn is another.

It's no problem. No worries. I'll be alright. It's not entirely your fault either, so I hope you don't feel bad. You know, I have really learned to appreciate small simple things in life like my dog. He has been such a huge help and a wonderful, loyal pet. He's part of the family. He knows when my PTSD or PTS (whatever the Army calls it now) is triggered and will stick by close and keep watch over me and help me out and also comfort me. What would I do without my dog and the rest of my family? If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you do as far as performing magic? Like are you an assistant to a magician? Or a performer yourself?
