If you can locate Skin Game you'll have found another Garner gem, featuring Lou Gossett, Jr., Ed Asner and Susan Clark.

He was one of the best, a genuinely likeable guy!

We just saw Childrens Hour again, soon after we learned of his passing. The movie had a very controversial topic (for its time); and Mr Garner was very much up to the role! The chemistry he had with Shirley MacLaine and Audrey Hepburn was amazing. Tragedy or comedy, he performed both with ease. Lynn

I just found out something jaw-dropping. Remember in 1965, there was a TV show called "Stingray"? One of the U.K.'s Gerry Anderson puppet shows. The pilot of the futuristic submarine was Troy Tempest. The creators of the show, admitted the character was modelled after James Garner! Marina was modelled after Brigitte Bardot.

Out of curiosity, who here remembers Nichols?

I thought it was a wonderful series, cut far too short.

What could be better than sheriff James Garner on an Indian motorcycle in 1914?

In 1914, the Indian was still referred to as a Motocycle. (No "r") I love Indian bikes.

I didn't remember it at all and I couldn't understand why because I've always been a big James Garner fan.

So I looked it up and saw that it was only on for one season, 1971-72, and I was in Iceland for all of 71 and at sea in the Med for until June of 72. And we didn't get much American TV.

Sounds like it was interesting, though. Particularly since it co-starred Stuart Margolin, who later was a regular on the Rockford Files and one of my favorite character actors.
