My kid gets on the computer early in the morning and is allowed to be on until 11:00. It's a very strange period of time as he finds weird cartoons and music. Today he found "Bang Shang a Lang" by the Archies and "Ouch!" by The Rutles which got me thinking, what bands have you heard of that never really existed?

Bang Shang a Lang by The Archies

and "Ouch!" by The Rutles

So, here's your assignment; can you think of another band that didn't really exist? I've got a couple, but I don't want to hog the thread so I'll only mention one more that I don't think anyone here has ever heard of;

Disaster Area - The biggest, richest, LOUDEST rock band in the history of... history itself! It's been suggested that Disaster Area's decibel level may actually be louder than the actual Big Bang! Fans say the best listening experience can be found by listening in underground concrete bunkers located thirty seven miles away from the actual concert site while the band plays their instruments by remote control in orbit around the planet... or frequently another planet entirely. There aren't any recordings of Disaster Area as their music tends to melt recording equipment and their lawyers have been known to melt people who try to make pirate recordings. Disaster Area has only ever played one concert in the Sol System. The result is currently known as the Asteroid Belt.

Im not sure about 'greatest' but one one-hit-wonder I remember is "Arnie and the Terminators" with "Ill be Back."
Find it on YTube. Im not sure there was a video but the song was very poular for a while in the 90's

Trivia tidbit: The Archies were created by Don Kirchner when he got tired of dealing with his human creation "The Monkees". Kirchner decided to create a band that would not talk back when Michael Nesmith refused to record Kirchner's next song saying "I'm a producer too, and that ain't no hit". The Archies took "Sugar Sugar" to the top of the charts while the Monkees rode the last train to nowheresville.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread...

Nothing. My post was in answer to your question about Sgt. Pepper. The Eddie and the Cruisers post was made while I was typing.
