My B-wave came with 3 blue bicycle cards, but the red gaff card is not a bicycle back. That doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't the design remain the same, just change the color?
Other's thoughts? Anywhere I can get the proper gaff queen in a red bicyle design? Thanks. |

It comes with a different design. Don't worry about it. As for getting the gaff in bicycle... http://www.magicbycardmaker.com/printed-cards.html
Here's one of the few remaining gaff decks in Bicycle. http://www.bicycleplayingcardsupplies.co......ers.html

I found the Magic Makers gaff on Amazon. Lots of great utility cards, Wild cards, x3 million dollar monte, and 2 sets of B'wave cards. It is a great buy.

Thanks, Kabbalah, but I believe that the idea of the effect is to turn a blue back to a red version of the same design. To me, that consistency is important. David

It's not to just turn it to a red back but also that the card is from another deck. I believe that's how the patter goes on this. It's suppose to bring about the notion that you pulled that card from a completely different deck, the more different the better as to color and back design. It truly shows that you were somewhere else, doing something else when you pulled this card most importantly of the same suit and value. If the card back ended with just a color change, it wouldn't make the point as strongly as a different color and back design would make, as to being from a different deck...a completely different deck.
My red card is a different back design altogether, and is just perfect. So really, you got the effect just the way it's supposed to be, just the way everyone else probably received it as well. So basically all is well, and your great concern here as to "consistency" has never been a concern as to this effect. Go enjoy the trick, it's been a classic just as it is for a very long time. |

Thank you. I understand and greatly respect how you all have coached me on this. And don't get me wrong; I do like doing the effect, and it works just fine as it is. I guess I just have to play with it a bit in my own way.

So, just thinking out loud.... Why not use three blank blue cards, any red Svengali deck, and a matching red card? Use an E count to show four blank blue cards, use the Svengali deck to select the card the spec will menatally print, put the deck away, then find exactly that card with a red back in the blue packet. Simple, direct, examinable. The magician doesn't specify queens and doesn't go thorugh the magician's choice sequence. Less suspicious, I think.

I got B'Wave many years ago and the gaff is not a matching bike card and I like it that way.
Respectfully, I don't understand how your thinking out loud idea is less suspicious than just using the bwave cards. And why a Svengali deck? It's fun to play around creatively like that, but bwave is one trick that's great just the way it is. |

OK, everybody, I appreciate your feedback and tolerance of my need to play around creatively. I guess this classic is rock solid as it is. Thanks.
