I've seen his show 9 times. Still the best magic in vegas. This lecture sounds like the lecture notes he's been selling for years. I've done his rope routine several times. Saddly, he doesn't teach the routine from his show and told me he likely never will, but the one he does teach is still very good.

Well the one from his show is pretty much straight from George Sands except the ending he added that is fantastic. However the one he teaches was good enough for David Copperfield to do on his tv special so it isn't "bad" by any means
But in general the content seems to be from his lecture notes but who cares. I would actually prefer for him not to teach a single effect but talk about much more important things he has years of experience like character development, selecting material based on characer, callbacks, routining and so on Juha-Matti |

What timing! I didn't know about this until today. I've not had chance to see Mac in Vegas but love his work. This should be fun.

Mac King lecture lasted exactly 4 hours. The routines teached were pretty much the same that are in King's lecture notes so best bits were sneaky card in the shoe, one of the best rope routines ever and nice addition to Carlyle homing card. He talked a lot about the routines he does in his act at Harrah's but nothing was shown or teached from that act and it is understandable. In between tricks there was lots of real world advises and tips that at least pro's and performers appreciate but certainly not a lecture for move monkeys. But who cares about Youtube magicians anyway
The interview part lasted also 2 HOURS and was THE BEST interview section they had in Penguin live lectures and covered soo many things worth their weight in gold that I would have gladly paid +100euros for the interview part alone. Hard to say how people who havent seen King show would see the interview section since many of the examples and topics had something to do with his Harrah's show. It would probably lasted even longer but Harlan stopped it at 4 hour mark Its 6am in Finland at the moment and I don't regret a bit I stayed up. Juha-Matti |

I really enjoyed the lecture. Thanks Mac! The rope trick was worth the price for me.

The one King does as opener in his show and what P&T are referring at Fool us isn't published. Or it is basically George Sands routine but it is the ending that fools pretty much everyone who are not expecting it And as stated, its not published. Juha-Matti |
