I have been studying and using hypnosis for about 2 years now. However I have hit a wall as I am finding it very difficult to find subjects to get some extra practice in. Friends and Family have all been used and refuse to let me use them as guinea pigs anymore (sucks I know). Any suggestions on finding new subjects to practice on?

Rule #2. Read and understand Rule #1 prior to moving on.

Agreed. You will get far better results from strangers than you will from people you know. When I first started I got very indifferent results when trying it with individuals, whether I knew them or not. This was partly because I was daft enough to actually believe in hypnosis and partly because you get far better results in a group situation. The first time I had any success at all was when I did it in a lecture situation at a psychic fair. To my utter amazement it worked perfectly. Well, it did the first time. It didn't work the second time, or the third time, or the fourth time, or the fifth time, or the sixth time but it DID work the seventh time! From that moment on sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. However, I was in a position to do it once or twice a week for months on end so eventually it clicked and I have done it ever since to great success.

I have never done it in a walk around situation or in this so-called "street hypnosis" and I am quite sure I never will. I will stick to card tricks in that situation.

I really made progress when I studied "They Call it Hypnosis" by Robert Baker which explained that hypnosis was a load of old hooey. In other words it doesn't exist at all except in the minds of the subjects or even worse in the minds of all the daft "hypnotists" that believe in this tosh. I was greatly gratified when a couple of the greatest stage hypnotists I have ever seen confided in me that the whole thing was a load of baloney. I would advise ignoring all the silly people who will chatter to you about studies involving brain waves and psychological studies and use a bit of street wise common sense instead. After all scientists thought Uri Geller was the real thing too.

Oh Lord Marks agenda LOL.

Mark we all agree nobody has ever been hypnotized in one of your shows. Though they fall asleep regularly in your other shows.

I often fall asleep during my own shows! Usually when I do the induction! Still, the applause and laughter wakes me up! Here is an example from about 20 years ago.

It is NOT a basement. In fact it is in a very posh hotel. I happen to be psychic and knew Danny was going to make a biased remark. However, I prefer to listen to all the laughter and applause in the video rather than twitterings from Daniel. He should listen to it too. But then I expect he has "non laughing ears". Talking about laughing it seems to be going on almost continuously throughout the clip. And without the slightest bit of vulgarity either. I don't need that sort of thing since I am a very proper person unlike many of the rather dreadful people on this section who encourage terribly improper behaviour on stage.

Danny. I never claim to be modest. I only claim to be brilliant.

And again I ask IbMania to note who started the rude remarks on this thread. Danny always recommends "How to Win Friends and Influence People" Alas I am afraid he is not a very good student of the book. I think he would be far more at home with a book entitled "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People". I might write it for his exclusive use. After all he did once describe me as "a gifted writer". He was in a good mood that day!

And at least my presence has started conversations about STAGE hypnosis that seem to have been missing in recent times.

Silly people aside MrRyan, go pro. As soon as you charge, either for shows or therapy, the game changes and you Have to get good, which you may never do otherwise. So practice rather than practise , and give the infighting the contempt it deserves. You know what you do and what it can do, take action.

That clip is hilarious, I think that as long as your audience is greatly entertained (I observed that the spectators are laughing constantly throughout the video) then you are doing a fine job indeed! It doesn't matter whether the hypnotism is real in my humble opinion, what matters most is whether the audience enjoyed it, and in this regard the performance excelled considerably Smile

Yea with Dynamike not here to constantly hound hound it is possible he will make it past 48 hours.

Any bets on Mark acting like an adult?

Mark seriously dude you have information to offer in several areas actually. Why not just do that? I think many could actually benefit from your point of view. I hope you stay around some this time.

I have very strong reasons for believing that Magic Kingdom is not the person you think he is. I should know..............

I appreciate his sentiments regarding the video though. People should set aside personal biases against the performer and judge on merit alone. I always do.

But what happened to Dynamike?

Was it another one of the assistants you sent in?

Either way why not try to stick around long enough to be productive? The place is better with you in it, provided you act like an adult.

Good ol Mike managed to get himself banned somehow.

I have no idea who Magic Kingdom is. I suspect he may be connected with the magic theme park in England by the same name.

Have you considered conducting a clinical trial to use hypnosis to aid those that are suffering from a particular health condition?

Regards,
Mike

Why don't you think hypnosis can help?
