On a close up mat sits a raw egg and small packet of cards.
Egg is offered for examination, visual inspection for cracks, none is seen, egg is perfectly sound. Cards are displayed to show different metals and alloys like steel, copper, gold, aluminum..etc. Cards are mixed and spec chooses one and the card is placed on the close up map so that steel is showing. Egg is placed on top of the card by spec, same egg they examined. Spec is instructed to stare intently at the steel picture under egg and the picture vanishes instantly and card is blank. Spec is then asked to crack the egg open and a piece of steel almost as big as the egg is found inside with the egg goo. Egg is never switched. I have a method just thought I would get some opionions of the effect. It plays out exactly as described. |

I assume the card is f***ed? When examining the egg can the spectator feel the extra weight?
Reality is a real killjoy.

Yes card is forced in the most natural way and any force can be used best suited to the magician. Weight can be toned down if you make the metal a tad bit smaller.

This effect would be in print and offered as a download with video performance and explanation. The nature of the effect/method
is a bit involved as far as preperation but in my mind extremely stunning due to the visual nature and the impossibility of having a big piece of metal inside the egg. Getting the metal in the egg without actually cracking it or cutting it surprises me because I literally captured lighting in the bottle with this method. Right now money is tight but Ill become an uber driver and have funds to create all the effects sitting in my head. I cannot wait to make a video here soon effect. |

Make it to see if its practical and keep us posted. It won't be a big seller because of the mess and preparation, so don't expect much, nor invest much until you've road tested it.
Remember, the impossibility isn't a great consideration because we do impossibilities all day long. What may be incredible to us may be weaker than a good sponge ball routine to an audience, and certainly no more impossible,to them. Good luck...as I said, blog it here, keep us posted.

MagicMaker, I know this is an old post, but did you ever release your metal in egg trick?
I just found this thread and am curious to see it in action and how your method worked. |
