I just received Jaime D Grants "The Approach" book and it is fantastic!
Mods - I feel this post is relevant in this section because this will give the newbs, like me, direction in helping knowing where to go and what to do next. If you are like me, a hobbyist, and someday fantasize about performing for others then this book will get you there. You will get the roadmap and confidence needed to get paid to perform. Jamie Starts with the basics in this book and holds your hand throughout the whole process. Jamie will turn you from a complete amateur to a professional - aka - someone getting paid. I didn't say you will have excellent skills and great slight of hand technique, that is up to you and your commitment Jamie assigns you homework in his book and makes sure that you build upon the different steps necessary before he moves on to the next steps. Although I am mostly a dvd guy I was absolutely hooked on reading this book and couldn't put it down, easy and fun to read. I highly recommend this book for anyone like me who is just a normal guy, didn't start magic really young, always enjoyed watching magic growing up, and now finally realizing that HEY, MAYBE I can do this. Best money I have spent so far in magic. Besides, what fun is it to know all of this magic/mentalism if we don't get to show anyone. CHECK IT OUT! and BUY IT NOW! http://www.sendwonder.com/collections/al......approach |

I am waiting for mine! I really need that push to get me to perform, lose the fear of failing by doing so.

I have heard nothing but excellent reviews for Jamie's book. Not to mention that Jamie himself is a super sweet guy.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
