I listen to old-time radio shows that I have burned onto cd's in the mp3 format. I just can't get enough of the old radio shows.

I'm logged into the magic Café from the moment I get into my office till when I leave *sigh* Hopefully someone will give me some work soon... You'll never hear me say that again!
Old time radio shows huh? Cool - I've been listening to the 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' CD and my Ministry of sound Chill out session CD. I should go shopping. Ahhhh nothing like some good old fashioned retail therapy ---->Wynsome |

Irosall, where did you get those radio shows? I'm interested in hearing one or two!

Like dpe666 I also pop in and out of here all day long.
Sometimes I run a classic rock radio station out of Denmark I think, called DR ROCK or something like that. I have it in my favorites. Or if all else fails, I will talk to an actual real person at work!!! Unless they are too busy The other short term options are: visiting the lunch room and snack/soda machines stopping by the water fountain going to the bathroom and taking in something to read getting a cup of coffee walking around the plant... remember to carry a document or piece of paper to seem legit (did ayone see the Dilbert cartoon where he is walking around with his paper but he made a device to hold the paper for him so his hand isn't even actualy holding the paper?) Well, those are a few of mine for when I am bored or feeling a little sleepiness coming on. GlenD

I never get bored at work, cause magic is the best job. I get bored when I am off. I do magic. Unless it is Sunday from Feb-Nov. then it is NASCAR.

When I'm bored at work, I go over to the shelves and study one of the many magic books. Of course, working at Denny & Lee makes this much easier than most places!

I'm self employed and work out of my house, so if I get bored I can do whatever I want! Ahhhh, it's good to be the boss!

The Café is a great place to look around for perspective. Funny place to argue the obvious with folks though.
Sitting here about to get coffee, looking at some data and trying to get shipping to give me enough info to get a MTBF estimate. And... working on some fingerpalm stuff with four very old well worn half crowns. Not bored, just using the place as a way to shift gears. Nice place here.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I also purchase MP3 disc's for about $6.00 from a lady on E-Bay who goes by the name of "The Radio Lady" and each disc usually has a minimum of 60 shows and her catalog is quite large and is always growing. I also check out tapes and occasionaly CD's with old time radio from my local Library but most of what they have I already have myself. Also some bookstores like Barnes & Noble or Waldenbooks will carry a small selection of tapes and sometimes CD's. I always convert the taped material to MP3. Iven

Try finding another job. No offense intended. John Maxwell said that you should find something you love to do then do it so well that people gladly pay you to do it and then you will never be bored in your life again. I left a high paying banking job to teach English in Taiwan and I will never go back to the bank.

I've got a job that at times has lots and lots of down time so it's easy to get somewhat bored.
I fill the time by writing our Club's Newsletter and more recently trying my hand at short stories. I build small magic props, write my performance scripts and in the last month have played around with building WOW cards, those topological folded constructs that were featured in Genii last month.

But when I am bored, I do magic. I practice, practice, practice. My customers love seeing magic, so it keeps me interested.

I have an awful job. I am a bartender. When I get tired of talking to the pretty girls and discussing everything from A to Z with all the regular patrons I get stuck performing magic for them.
What makes this job worse is when it is dead, I’m forced to break out the close up mat and practice magic or watch whatever game is on the high definition televisions.
