I really like the option to get the course in PDF format from Conjuring Arts as it can be viewed on my tablet. I have to admit that it took me a while to get used to reading books on a tablet. I still like the feel of turning the pages and radoming flipping to the section in the hard copy; it's just not the same as an ebook.

I love both but 1-8 appeals to me more and each volume easier to carry, but I also love huge books. 1-8 has stuff in them that the others do not and vice versa. But there is a lot of overlap. I have had multiple sets over 34 years now.

Well that is a personal preference. Do you want smaller books with all the material spread out or one big book with all of it in? I love both and as a collector of course I have to have both. But 1-8 is special to me as it was my first book set back in the day, and I paid $400 for it then and thought it was well worth it, as the course is the "Bible of magic". I kinda like going through one volume at a time with the 8 books. But I also love huge books as well so I got both as I am a collector.
This course is what gave me a solid foundation to build from and I still use stuff from these till this day 34 years later. But if you are like me, a diehard magic freak and collector, you won't want to miss even one thing that one may have that the other doesn't. Because we all know they are the "best tricks." ![]()

Simple answer: There's a lot more content in 1-8.

As I understand it, vols 1-6 contain most of the material from the original course, with revisions and some new stuff. Vol 7 is all new material and includes indices. Vol 8 is mostly original material omitted from 1-6.

Hi there!
Any idea what’s happened with the Tarbell books? All of sudden they’re out of stock everywhere! I was about to purchase vol. 2 because I’m following Dan Harlan’s video lessons, but none of the books are available! |

Tannen's appears to have most of the Tarbell volumes in stock right now.
