Well, I managed to buy a Magic Wagon mentalism-related item before they sold out! This new one features the ancients' view, from Greece to China, that everything is composed of one (or more) of four "elements"--earth, water, air, and fire. With an interest in ancient history, I quickly ordered it. To my astonishment, the package arrived at my home in Kentucky in two or three days --from Thailand!
The prop is a very nice small chest with holes in which to place four colored chips that represent the four elements. The brief, but clear, instructions teach two effects. 1) The spectator places the four chips in any order, and closes the chest; the mentalist can tell her the order of the chips. 2) The spectator places only one of the chips in one of the four (numbered) holes; the mentalist can tell her that (say) the "fire" chip is in the third hole. I like this prop, and can report that it lives up to Magic Wagon's reputation for quality. I have discovered two possible issues in regard to performing it: 1) The chips rest in the unit's four holes, but they do not snap in; so if one tilts the unit too much, the chips slide out and slide around. 2) The g-----k is ingenious but has angle issues. You could not perform it in a walk around setting with people behind you; performing with even a near-180 degree audience all in front of you might be unwise. I plan to perform the two effects that Magic Wagon suggests, but I am thinking that reverse order would provide more of a climax effect. George Hunter "Mentalist Subordinaire" |

I agree with the above concerns but if handled with care it can be avoided ...
For me there is however still a third thing and this concerns an excessive expenditure of strength Who has this trick knows what I am talking about, an inconspicuous handling needs a lot of practice |

Yes, thanks, that is indeed a third issue.

Congratulations George. The only time I hear or read something about Magic Wagon is when they are sold out!
