I'd like to develop a nice effect using the juice from a steamed red cabbage and an acid like vinegar or lemon juice. I know there are probably some sorts of clock reactions or indicator reactions this might be useful for... Any ideas?

For those of you who haven't tried this- you must. The effect is magical to watch in itself.

Steam a sliced up red cabbage. Steam it so that the liquid left in the bottom is clear, and a beautiful blue-green color.

Take the steamed cabbage, and eat it with a bit of butter!

That's all I'll say here... ye olde alchemists know where I'm going with this, ye rest of ye will just have to play with the juice and textual inferences if you wish to discover the magic inherent in the juice of the cabbage!
