These are two of the songs that played over in my head in the early 80s:

This is (for me) the most beautiful rendition of Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, as performed by the Swingle Singers:

Nice Arthur!
But, if it's Bartok you want. Listen to the opening eight chord intro on this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Kl46UHpSwE Once you've clicked, close your eyes so you cant see the artist.
What do we want?

The classic rock station they keep on at work often plays works by Blondie, Elton John and Paul McCartney - and they're still out there performing.

Well, I don't really see why there's dumping on GM from posting this. He put "Wham! Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" on the subject title.
It's not like he wrote; "Here's something cool." And left it to us to figure out what it was he was posting. Having said that, I liked "Video Killed The Radio Star" more than "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"

Not having watched MTV in quite a few years ... can anyone tell me what they show now instead of music videos?

Yeah, MTV ain't like what it used to be. That's why I guess we now sing "Internet killed the Music Video Channel" instead of "Video killed the Radio Star."
