I like to enjoy a good cigar.
My son got me an awesome humidor from the 20s or 30s at the thrift shop where he and my daughter work. It's a table model, tin lined with a door in the front- they normally go for 150 bucks on the auction site and he got mine for 25. I'll add a picture if anyone shows any interest in this thread. Anywho... Show us your humidor and share your likes in stogies if you have any. I expect this thread to die, but thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Surprise me.

Well now....
I quit smoking seven years ago, but I really loved good cigars. And I could smoke Cuban cigars legally and without remorse, though I couldn't afford to do it on a regular basis. So I can't show you my humidor. But I'll still look at yours if you wanna show it. |

Ah yes. Some the fellows come to my our little common gaming house simply because, unlike in the casino's, they can enjoy a cigar here. However some members did not like it and so we had a vote. Now we can't smoke at the card table but we can in the lounge. The poker players, they use them electric cigars at the tables now. I never smoked until I was 35 and started with cigars. I wish I could stop actually.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

First cigar I had was in high school...some carnival prize. Thing was lowest quality and about tro years old. The green gills it gave me put me off cigars for long time.
Then had some buddies in the Air Force that would break out cigars after an excercise or deployment or mission. And I discovered how enjoyable a good cigar can be. But I'm not yet to the point of having a humidor...

Late to seeing this thread, but you can probably tell by my Café name that I enjoy cigars :o).
I have a small humidor, nothing special. I used to do a cigar once or twice a week, now it's much less often. You put me in the mood to have one this afternoon now... |

I love a good cigar, but my BP keeps me from indulging anymore.

Well shoot. Now I need to post a picture of the humidor.
If any of you think of it, try a Java by Drew Estate and Rocky Patel. Delicious cigar. Haven't smoked any in a while myself. My son isn't around as much and my other cigar buddy passed away last year. He was dying of cancer and his doctor told him, "Dave you might as well enjoy your last days; if you want to smoke cigars, you go right ahead." He had very aggressive cancer and was only with us a few more months after that. But I bought us each a Java so he could try one and he told me, "I'm glad I got to try one of these before I died." Good memories of sittin outside, watching the grass grow, talking about whatever and smoking. So yeah, try a Java. They're slightly sweet and you get a nice, subtle coffee aroma. Also, very smooth and rich.

I haven't smoked in over two decades. I used to be a Tinder Box salesman, and smoked cigars and pipes.
My favorite cigars were: Hoyo De Monterey panatella Questa-Rey 95 maduro anything by Macanudo Royal Jamaican Braniff #3 dry-cured cigarillos Tinder Box Italian Liqueur My favorite Tinder Box pipe blend was Celtic Vanilla, cut 50-50 with Burley Light. My two favorite pipes (I had around a dozen) were a Savinelli and a signed Eric Nording freehand.

I grew up with many uncles smoking cigars and took a liking to it. Started in my late teens, but it was just occasional. Never smoked cigarettes. Quit the cigars about 3 or 4 years ago.

I've never smoked cigars. I had a job at Alfred Dunhill of London's New York store in the 70's. (I mixed and sold pipe tobacco.) While there, I saw the humidor room which is a large room kept at 85% humidity at all times. There are drawers lining the wall which hold cigars of people who have rented the space. Apparently some of them outright bought their space because it's still there even though the people themselves have long since passed away. (I'm not kidding, I remember seeing John F. Kennedy's humidor drawer when I walked around there.
http://newyork.schmap.com/shopping/alfred_dunhill I don't know if the humidor room is still there.
