Hello,
I am Daniel Rhod, a french magician.Sorry but The Flah deck switch of Shin Lim and Rich Piccone is a replica of my Topologic deck switch which was marketed with my Rainbow deck by belgium magic dealer Mephisto in the nineties. Some years ago in 2012 after the edition of the Cooler deck by Christian Engblom, I decided to republish it and how to handle it in the French magazine Arcane.I hope to get soon the proper credit for this creation. This has been working flawlessly for me after I swapped out the thread for a stronger material.

Ive ordered it.Im fine with arts and crafts.Have various glues from rubber cement to the repositionable stuff. The blue tacky stuff etc.I Quite like making my own gear.Bought a few of marcus Eddies stuff.Have Fearsons bullet threads so confident of getting up and running.Saw the review by that lovely lady magician.Sold it to me.I think the handling can be improved.if it works the way I hope. Then I'm sure itll be another great little gadget.I do like them.Love marcus Eddies open prediction and the extractor too.I bought a flipper coin from a well known brand. The band broke after a week.So stuff happens stuff breaks. So its good to know you can fix em.

Okay arrived today. Not quite what I expected.Box it comes in is fab. Will decorate with black sticky back plastic and use as a card box.My gimmick was a little too slack.Had issues with putting box on table.Still I think with a little tinkering maybe shim tries the idea I pmed him.Could be a winner the method. If only used a little something diff.Didnt use that kind of thread but another kind.Off to experiment with plastic.Shim pm back please

Mine arrived yesterday and I have to say I was disappointed with how quickly the gimmick broke. I realise that repair is covered in the video and material provided to do so but I have doubts over the suitability of the material and how it would stand up to even medium use. I'm going to work at it a little and give it some time to win me over. I like the concept but I feel that perhaps this product was rushed onto the market before being truly ready.

I saw many negative comments on this, and now Shin put out an improved version: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S19275
Does anybody know what kind of improvements will be made in the 2.0 version? nothing is said on the advertisement... |

Hello The0mas –
Yes, there are definitely improvements to the original. Basically Shin is using new materials on all of the components. I've been playing with one for a week or so with no problems at all. It's a very nice piece! Also, The cost of this one (although it is much more labor intensive to produce) is the same as the original. Cheers! |

Shin. Could you send me a 2.0 version. I wish I had purchased from Penguin. They are the best magic dealer out there for price and customer service

Well I hope the dealers are going to let owners of the original access to tbe 2.0 download so we can at least update or gimmicks.I bought mine 3 weeks ago. There was no mention of a new one round the corner. For the money I had to download the instructions. So how about free upgrade.

I have an original flash deck (Not Flash Deck 2) it sits in a drawer looking sad and will do so until the day I die unless I do something with it. It's got some of the spare required thingymebob that came with it too. Rather than consigning it to the bin if I discard the ridiculously large original box it came in it will fold flat and will go into a small envelope protected by an old Christmas card would this be of any use to anyone? No charge but it will go by the cheapest snail mail so is likely to take until the new year if you are in Australia! PM me if you would like it. In return just pay it forward and do something spontaneously nice for someone over the Yuletide period.
