My understanding is it is getting some great reviews.

During the Golden Age, Marvel's Simon and Kirby actually got into trouble when they had their very first issue of Captain America that depicted Cap punching Hitler. Because at that time America had not declared war against Germany as yet. So there was a German protest-group that actually threatened Simon and Kirby at that time. As a result Simon and Kirby had to lay off Hitler for a while until the actual declaration of war in real life.

The Joker was really, really dark but my wife who is not a big fan of Superhero movies loved it. She, (and I), thought Joaquin was amazing. But definitely not a 'feel good' movie.

I loved the new Joker movie.

It was delightfully disturbing. Smile

It is direct, Jonathan. I don't know why it doesn't work for you. Sorry.

The movie is doing well. Using Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll Part 2 may have been a mistake as the guy is in prison and a convicted paedophile.

Moral turpitude is contagious. Not sure what linking to a Samsung news aggregator app is about.

It's easy to be outraged when one doesn't bother to look into the facts.

"Rights holders for Gary Glitter’s catalogue of songs have stated that the disgraced rock star will not receive royalties from one of his songs being used in the movie Joker."
Make America Great Again! - Trump in 2020 ... "We're a capitalistic society. I go into business, I don't make it, I go bankrupt. They're not going to bail me out. I've been on welfare and food stamps. Did anyone help me? No." - Craig T. Nelson, actor.

Yea the whole outrage thing is tough to manage at times. Facts make it even tougher. Good point.

As for the movie itself I was not that enthralled with it.

Joker is going to be a billion dollar film. Guaranteed.

NO doubt.

Not the first billion dollar movie that wasn't for me. Titanic leaps to mind.

Even before the Joker movie premiered, tourists were already flocking to the actual New York stairway where a Joker scene was filmed. I saw a clip where a tourist filmed the actual stairway. And it's just a commonplace nondescript stairway. Yet now it's a tourist attraction. Sounds ridiculous but I guess that's how movie fans are.

Oh no doubt ask the Field of Dreams people. https://fieldofdreamsmoviesite.com/

I think the woman who owned the house Breaking Bad was set it had problems with people throwing pizza on her garage.

Any thoughts on the TV shows Arrow, Batwoman, or The Flash doing the Crisis setup and crossover? Or the HBO series, Watchmen?

I enjoyed Batwoman until I saw they were doing crossover stuff. So I stopped watching.

I mean I stop at the Twin Peaks locations in WA every time I'm on that side of the state so I won't judge location hunters.

The Twilight Series single-handedly saved the dying town of Forks, Washington.
From backwoods meth-labs to Japanese tourist vans.
