Years ago I signed up for Dave’s “free” marketing reports and still get direct mail from him.

I received his Motivational Magic Presentation offer ( $1000 ).

What bothers me is this. He writes :
“ That’s why I’m writing this letter to you as fast as I can. I want to get this in the mail before I change my mind”.

Would anyone believe this childish statement? He’s selling his program to make money. I think that is fantastic. I love entrepreneurship and it’s what fuels our economy. But why the cheesy sales pitches?

Has anyone actually used what he’s sold and endorse it?

There are several threads here, where DD is discussed.

I have also been receiving Dave Dee's newsletters.
He seems (according to himself) to have som pretty relevant material. Despite of this and my actually need for input on marketing strategy and techniques, I have never bought anything from him. I always get suspicious when I read the "buy-my-course-and-get-rich-and-famous-tomorrow" adds.

I noticed that Chuck Hickok recommends Dave Dee in his book. Some time ago I sendt Chuck Hickok an email and asked about DD's courses.
Chuck recommended them. He was unsure about whether the strategies and techniques would work in my country, though.
Maybe it would be worthwhile contacting Chuck if you need details?
He says that he actually uses what he learned from DD

Two years ago I ordered Dave Dees "Ultimate Kick Butt Marketing System" . I wondered, if I ever could use some of these strategies and techniques here in Germany. And yes, you can use some of these techniques, but certainly not all of them!I can recommend this system to some extend.

Then I decided to order his "How to create a kick butt demo video tape". You receive a ten page manuscript and his demo tape. Sorry, but what a waste of money! This has nothing to do with a demo tape. What bothers me most is, that I paid 50$ for it and 20$ postage!!I found Michael Dilbertos article "How to produce a succesful Video" to be of greater value to me!

P.S.:Find these sales pitches cheesy too.

Hi,
I have purchased Several dave dee products and I have been more than happy with all of them. One thing that I have noticed about performers like myself who buy Marketing manuals (I have quite a lot) is that we are also the ones that can afford to buy them yet probably least need them...... does that tell you anything?

Dave's material was one of the first 'marketing' packages I purchased. When I initially received it, I was very impressed, but the more I worked with it, I realized it left out a lot of much needed material. I purchased many more of his packages and got pretty much the same feeling.

I'm not sorry that I bought the stuff. It really got me thinking and started me working at marketing. However, over the past few years I've found much better material at a fraction of the cost.

One thing you must realize though and this is not a slam against Dave, but he is a marketer first and a magician second...maybe third.

He has a coporate marketing package, yet in one of his videos (or audio tapes, I forget which) he plainly states that he did one trade show and hated it and decided then and there that it wasn't for him.

You can do corporate work without doing trade shows, but I think most magicians think "trade show" when talking about corporate work.

Would I purchase his material again? If I knew then, what I know now, no...not likely. However, it did get me thinking. I have other thoughts regarding this, if you're interested, PM me (not for public discourse).
