Just watched the show, although I personally watched it live already, it didn't stop blowing me away! A true Master's work!!

Surprised that, for me, the best, most dramatic effect of the whole show was the "Card at any number" but I guess, as mentioned earlier, this will air later in the year as part of "Stand up to Cancer".
Great show. |

I must say I really rather enjoyed it. I also really liked the whole dickbrain routine at the end it could have been like sitting watching someone just show off but Derren really got it spot on. Overall lovely simple effects with killer results all the way through with some great humor. Well worth a watch.

I enjoyed the show, it was totally different to his other shows and the effects he sequenced together worked well.
I do wonder ... how many part-timers will now try to receate parts of the show? This was a show to be enjoyed, not just mindlessly ripped off.

What I liked very much was the hand-in-the-box-sequence. It's beautiful atmosphere, great story and a meaning to take home (though I dislike the assoiciation to NLP..). All in all a great thinking behind an effect so very typical for Mr. Brown.
For the Dickbrain segment, the rubiks cube match was a bit over the edge for my taste. On the other side, do I like the rice-sequence as much more. And it's an example, why I like Derren Browns performances: the effect are original and well-conceived. If you know any other mentalist or magician who creates such clever performances, I'd love to know more about them! Therefor, looking forward to experience his upcoming show, next year... |

That was the routine that I liked the most and the Grandmother discription of the monkey bite in the Rock of Gibralter in the medium routine. |

So we are now being ok with piracy here then. Downloading broadcast tv is piracy. This will also be on sale. Mods please delete links.

I enjoyed this very much, as do I with all of his shows. Derren is an absolute MASTER showman. His hooks are powerful. The way he establishes instant rapport. The effects were great and all, but man O man, it's the showmanship and stage craft that I take away from all of his shows.

His impression of the psychic reading the phone number was hilarious!
He's such a great mimic, I'm sure you have all heard his Stewie from Family Guy Impression. |

Just how well known is Derren Brown in the UK? Would anyone 8-80 recognize his name? Or picture? Simply curious.

Bill,
Derren is extremely well known in the UK. He began as a TV magician many years ago. His stage shows are complete sellouts and his stagecraft is second to none in my opinion. Some of what he does is very basic but his performance elevates the effect to another level. Check him out on YouTube. |

I particularly enjoyed the Dickbrain segment, which was a fine demonstration of what can be achieved by reading Harry Lorrayne's superb memory book.

That's right. Just like his routines that are achieved through the dedicated study and expert use of NLP.
