Aside from getting to watch Dan rock the house with classic Thumb Tip effects, my favorite part of this lesson was seeing how he modernized "Burning a Borrowed Handkerchief". I also started doing "The Asbestos Palm" immediately after learning the handling. This is one of my favorite lessons to date. Enjoy!

It looks like Penguin wants to make the montly subscription worth it with this release. The price for the first day release went up a dollar, 4.95 to 5.95 for Tarbell 6. It makes the monthly subscription now a better deal over individual releases each week. Dollars ad up over a month....
Still a good deal though - Dan does a wonderful job putting his spin on items and educating. |

First off, thank you for supporting the series! This is one of my favorite lessons.
Second, with Tarbell 6, as an introductory offer we're also giving away a free thumb-tip, which makes this a way BETTER value. Finally, I just want to say, this course is a great value at $10 a lesson. A tremendous amount of work and content goes into every lesson (most of the credit for that goes to Dan Harlan, a brilliant, brilliant man.) And we will often give some incentive on the first day, but it will often be different, and there will definitely be weeks where we don't give any. I hope that last part doesn't sound like a threat Just know we're always going to try to maximize the value to our customers. |

I just made the mistake to order the download because of the thumb tip deal.. now I am supposed to pay over 32 USD for shipping for a 2 USD thumb tip! so I guess unless you're planning to buy some other stuff that needs to be shipped, the deal isn't really worth it (at least for me). |

How many lesson are there? Also how many months is this going to be. Basically if I get the monthly pass and stay to the end how much is it going to cost?

I love the little touch on the Passe-Passe salt where he plucked a few from the air and sprinkled them on the spectators hand. REALLY strong reaction even from a fairly difficult spectator.
Worth the download for me. Currently, 1-6 have all been great. Awesome job guys. |

This video is a great investment. Dan does it again!
I have seen the cut and restored headphone cord before. It's recorded on a dvd from years ago. I remember it because it was a fellow ginger Scot performing it. I'll look into it for proper crediting of this item.

Jamie (et al)--
It wasn't until after I had done the cut and restored headphone cord that someone mentioned to me that they had seen it before. Please look into it so we can give credit to whoever was first to do it. I came up with it independently when trying to figure out an item that would be as easy to borrow in modern society as a handkerchief was in Tarbell's day. It is such a great trick to perform that I am a bit surprised it hasn't received more attention before now. I certainly hope that the originator can forgive me for re-inventing his/her effect, but I certainly hope that we can give it the attention it deserves. I still don't know the proper credit. Please let us all know where it appeared first. Thank you. --Harlan |

Hey Dan,
I think I have seen Justin Willman do that cut and restored with the headphone! I will look for the video. |

Like you say, Dan, it seems (with 20/20 hindsight) a slap-your-head obvious segue from the cut & restored rope, handkerchief, straw, etc. Great work with Tarbell, by the way! It's a project which has been wanted for a long, long time. But now ALL the great secrets are gonna be out there, IF viewers recognize that Dr Tarbell chose the "tricks" to illustrate the principles he was teaching. *jeep! and God Bless! ---Grandpa Chet
