Hello everyone, my shell dropped to the flor and it became very tight, when I put a HD into the shell, I almost cannot take it out of it. So any ones knows a way to fix this? Thanks.

I've used the silk method successfully, but I wouldn't ignore the link to Lassen's advice. |

Push an english penny inside, then use a bang ring to take it out and the HD will fit good.

I would not try to place an English penny diameter approx. 31 mm into a half dollar shell, made to fit a coin approximately 30 mm in diameter. Although 1 mm does not sound large, it is midway between 1/32 and 116 of an inch, a shell expanded that much would result in a shell that would rattle like crazy. I don't even think an english penny would fit in any decent shell.

I have a shell by RK which I bought about 5 years ago. it gets tight and half dollars got stuck in it about once a year. I've used this method everytime, and it works. It rattles a bit right after you do this, but after practicing with it for a while it returns to it's original state. If you are still worried about rattling, right after you take the penny out put a half dollar inside and roll it sideways on a table. the process bends the edges so it's not too expanded and doesn't rattle. |

I've successfully used the silk method and dowel method but will try the bic lighter next time. Maybe there won't be a next time... Wishful thinking.

A simple method that really works…the bic lighter. Nice mention and actual instruction by Todd Lassen, which absolutely proves the man indeed does have a good bone in his body.
