A new scoop from yours truly:
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S18700 anish the Angel in SLOW-MOTION! MAGICALLY and SLOWLY the little angel on the back of a freely chosen card VISUALLY FADES AWAY...only to completely DISAPPEAR leaving just an EMPTY space! But when the mist has cleared...the little angel has safely made his re-appearance on the selected card in an impossible way which can now be given out as a souvenir. You'll have to see it to believe how VISUALLY STUNNING this looks. This is eye candy of the highest calibre -it looks like you're watching a video special effect! Peter Eggink's "MIST" also works beautifully in conjunction with Paul Harris' "Twilight Angels". (Right after the animation you can go directly into the classic Twilight Angels "Mirror" sequence when desired). Besides the full training DVD, your "MIST" package contains the very special hand-build "MIST" gimmick manufactured on blue Bicycle "Mandolin" stock, a blue Bicycle Mandolin back deck of cards and 5 "Twilight Angel" cards. NO special ink SUPER visual SUPER EASY to do NO Elastics Card can be signed and given out as a souvenir Add to a normal deck Resets in seconds Looks quite decent. However, how many performers use blue back playing cards (it is a requirement for this effect) |

Twilight Angels always looked better on blue backs anyway, so that's not an issue for me.
What IS an issue is that we never seem to get get just a normal straight-forward view of the trick. Instead we get a lot of edits and video effects. This is almost always evidence of the fact that it doesn't look that good in real life. If it DID look as good, they wouldn't bother chopping it up. |

I like the look of this but is it only in Blue? as my twilight angles are in red, I would like the colour to be the same if I was doing one effect after another.

This doesn't look too bad actually, yeah it may be easy for magician's to figure out the small portion, but it has a nice visual to it.

I think it looks really good in the right hands and how you perform it.

We will be stocking this in the UK and will be listing it soon when we have a date for it.
Unless you know how it is done I suspect most are guessing as the method surprised me.

Looks crazy! How does this compare to "Touched by an Angel" Peter released a decade ago?

Looks quite nice. I love tricks like this but I don't use blue back cards and wouldnt want to carry another deck and for me; the best thing about tricks like this is giving spectators the cards at the end so it'd be good to understand what the refil situation will be.
Looks a bit like those heat sensitive mugs that turn black as they cool. I'm sure its cleverer than that, but I wonder if that's what people would think as its quite a well known thing. I still wonder why no one has comercially produced an effect that makes the angel fly off the back of the card ala floating match trick. Someone did years ago but never got made properly. |

Hey Everybody,
Thanks for the comments and for bringing my new release to the green room 9 Years ago I released "Touched by an Angel" with JB Magic/Mark mason. The effect is that both Angels disappear and reappear at will. Cool gimmick but the actual vanish of the Angel(s) was not visually stunning. "Mist" however allows you to super visually vanish the angel in slow-motion. Your spectators will see it fade out, blur away until it completely disappears. The methodology is AS cool as the effect itself. Looks great close-up as it was designed to be a worker. What you get in your Package is a full training DVD, hand-build MIST gimmick, a full deck of bicycle "Mandolin" back playing cards plus 5 PH's Twilight Angel cards. Regarding Refill, if you choose not to have the TA card signed, you can use the same card over and over again and you'll have 4 spare cards. If you choose to have them signed, you can buy full TA card decks at your local dealer. At the end, signature or not, the actual effect is really powerful and memorable for your spectators. Yesterday a magician send me a message on FB as he thought it looked "too good" on the trailer in his own words. He was wondering how this would look in real life and up close so he asked if I could show him the routine on Skype...which I did. Allow me to share his post on my FB wall after I showed him "Mist" live on Skype; "Now I will say that this post going to be quite long but if you've heard anything about Peter Eggink's effect mist then you will want to read this. I just got off Skype with Peter Eggink and he did a demo of his latest effect mist, well... I have to say this looks amazing it looks like real life C.G.I. Peter is an absolute genius for coming up with this. Peter did a demo of the actual routine itself too me via Skype and it looks incredible, he then did a different variation where the angel faded away but then immediately faded back into view in the same spot. Seriously if any of you have any doubts about how this looks I can assure you the way it looks in the trailer is exactly how it looked to me via Skype, Peter even said that it looks better live than on video and after what he showed me I have no reason not to believe him, I know a few of you that may have attended the L.A.D.s convention may have seen Peter do a live demo and if you did then you know what I mean by the visuals it's just crazy. I would also go as far as too say that if any of you perform the classic twilight angels effect from Paul Harris then you'll know how strong that effect is on laymen, Peter's effect however I am convinced will make it 10x stronger than it already is, despite the insane visuals I thought that this wasn't going to be practical at all but from what Peter has told me it sounds very practical indeed. This I can definitely see myself using and I can see many other magicians using this as well, I will mention one other thing with twilight angels as much as I love the effect I’m never too keen on having too carry a mirror around or a zippo lighter as I am young and don’t smoke, so I love the fact that Peter's effect mist eliminates the use of a zippo and/or a mirror. I love the look and sound of this and I am definitely buying one when it is eventually released. Peter you've done again mate a great piece of visual magic which is just going to fry your spectators well done buddy. Hope you guys took the time to read this just as I took the time to write it. Thank You!!" -Connor Walsh I'll post an uncut, full performance video soon so stay tuned. Joy, Peter

Peter has done great job with this effect how on earth he came up with this idea I don't know.
The method when you see it is very clever and complex although simple at the same time. This may sound confusing but there a couple of things which on there own are simple but combined make this fantastic visual effect. It is can just use a normal blue Mandolin deck with this effect and a deck is supplied to get you going. You don't need any special refills for a basic handling of the angel disappearing and coming back to the same place on the card and you don't need to give the card away. If you want to do a signed card version then yes you will give a card away, and if you want to give away a card with the angel out of position you will need refills of the Twilight Angels cards that you can buy full decks refills from us as well. I don't see the problem of using a blue deck when I do normally use red because I never do card trick after card trick I always vary things a bit and the other card tricks I do can be done with Mandolins anyway so really there is nothing extra to carry other than the gimmick. What's the price for a refill deck? No point in performing this unless they get to keep the souvenir IMO.
