Here is an upcoming release that you will love performing
http://www.magictao.co.uk/your-card-is-by-grant-maidment You have a card selected, signed, this then gets lost in the pack. You produce a set of four of the same cards ie. four Jokers. You show the backs to be all blue. One by one each joker turns face up from face down. You then place the four cards in the spectator's hand and ask them to wave their other hand over the cards. One card turns face down. You take the remaining three face up Jokers and show that they have now each turned into a different colour back with the words 'YOUR CARD IS' and an arrow written on the back of the cards. When the spectator turns the card in their hand, it is their signed card. Very visual and one you will be adding to your act. Also comes with a bonus trick 'Chameleon Deceptions'. A trick where four of the same cards ie. four Jokers turn from face down to face up. Then by waving over the cards, the backs turn into different colours. You are supplied with all cards needed plus a DVD with full explanations. |

Waiting for this to arrive. Looks like basic card handerling but beautifully constructed. A definate worker which will play really well. Instant reset. Was tempted to make one up and put a routine together but I will wait until it arrives. Looking forward to seeing if grant releases any more material mild donoghue

I've seen Grant do this, it's a brilliant routine, well structured, clean and amazing and you are as clean as a whistle at the end!

Hey Everyone,
May I first mention how excited I am to be releasing these two routines to the magic community! I have been using both of them regularly in my professional work and they really do get strong reactions. Having had great response to these routines from many top working pros, I now share them with you. If you purchase the DVD please feel free to leave a review and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Yours in Magic, Grant Maidment |

I worked this at every group over last weekend and the reactions were great. Instant applause at most groups. They never see the ending and each reveal ( Your Signed Card gets looks if shock) they don't realise that it's on their until the final card. Bonus routine is good but there are several other similar type routines that I already use by paul Gordon, john ban on an Liam mon tier that I will stick with instead. However the main routine is fantastic and beautifully constructed. 10 out of 10 for Grant

Thanks for your comments Mike! Really pleased that you are getting some useage and performing it. I will also point out that there is a lot of potential for different messages on the cards too! Happy Birth Day, a company name etc - I have many variations which makes this effect very adaptable. You could even write the words in a different language for foreign clients! "Your card is" is also naturally good for noisy bars and nightclub gigs! Grant

Well I am still using it at every show I do and I work a heck of a lot. My advise is just bit it. It's worth a lot more than it's selling for. Mike donoghue

This trick will be overlooked.
Shame, as it packs a massive punch. The structure is genius. I use it. I love it. Nuff said.

YOUR CARD IS BY GRANT MAIDMENT
2/1/2015 0 Comments Title: Your Card Is Creator: Grant Maidment Publisher: Magic Tao MSRP: $ 20 Skill Level: ALL DVD Run time: 36 min Type of effect: Color changing packet trick Manufacture's Write up: You have a card selected, signed, this then gets lost in the pack. You produce a set of four of the same cards i.e. - four Jokers. You show the backs to be all blue. One by one each joker turns face up from face down. You then place the four cards in the spectator's hand and ask them to wave their other hand over the cards. One card turns face down. You take the remaining three face up Jokers and show that they have now each turned into a different color back with the words "YOUR CARD IS" and an arrow written on the back of the cards. When the spectator turns the card in their hand, it is their signed card. How accurate is the add copy? Well, this effect as sold as "Your Card Is" with an extra effect "Chameleon Deception" but in truth... what comes in the box is the set up for the "Chameleon Deception" effect and it's the first effect taught on the DVD. The title effect "Your Card Is" feels more like a climax ending you can stick onto the end of your favorite card effect using the "Chameleon Deception" cards, however to do THAT trick you'll need to write on your cards with a black sharpie marker and thus you won't be able to do "Chameleon Deception" anymore. What's in the box? A DVD and the needed Bicycle branded cards My thoughts: This is just a variation on Gary Freed's "NFW" - which is a variation on twisting the aces. In fact Magic Tao sells this same set up of cards and effect from Gary Jones called "Shock Twist." Is it well made: Cards are ordinary Bicycle stock Is it well taught: Yes it is How are the production values: Live performance and studio performance, shot with multiple angles in the Magic Tao studio Overall score: 7/10 Here is my video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDmVvpVYYaA |

Thank you for your review David.
I would agree that you are better using the cards supplied for chameleon deceptions. "Your Card Is" - I would say a fair description would be: A twisting routine that ends with the backs changing colour to reveal the words "your" "signed" "card" and an arrow pointing to the last card - which is the spectator's signed card!!! My routine is completely different to NFW. In this routine four jokers turn face down one at a time and then change to aces. Most magicians will have a few different backed jokers and therefore will be able to perform both routines. |

Chameleon deceptions is very different set up/method to shock twist and is performed very differently although you have a colour changing climax in both routines. Shock twist is based on an old Derek Dingle routine whereas my routine is more based on the classic twisting the aces. My routine is very fair and in one phase can be performed in the spectators own hands. I hope this helps to clarify the difference and similarities.
*Please note you cannot do shock twist with chameleon deception cards. All the best. Grant Maidment |

In NFW (also a twisting the aces routine) the jokers flip face up one at a time and then change to Aces (using an Elmsley count)
In your effect the spot cards flip face up one at a time and then change the color of their backs (using an Elmsley count) So I wouldn't say they are COMPLETELY different. If they were completely different then I should be able to perform the two effects back to back I agree that with additional cards, you could perform both effects, in my review what I said was you couldn't perform both effects with the cards provided. I did a google search just now and read some other reviews.... "When I first saw this, it just felt like I had seen this before. I think perhaps it just reminds me of the Gary Jones Shock Twist. " http://www.mylovelyassistant.com/reviews/view/4309 "The DVD also includes an additional routine called Chameleon Deceptions. I was a bit underwhelmed by this one as I’ve seen this type of effect many times in the past. The routine is basically Twisting the Aces with a technicolor backs kicker. The technicolor ending has been done before, most recently in Shock Twist by Gary Jones" http://www.magicjunkies.com/2014/12/card......reviews/ So apparently there are a few others who agree the tricks appear similar. But you have inspired me to create a more acurate review. So therefore (for you) I have pulled my review down and have re-edited it to reflect your wishes. :) |

Hi David,
I appreciate you taking the time to submit another review. NFW does not finish with an elmsley count. The jokers turn face down one at a time. Here is a video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0_d-e_3SoGE It is fair that you cannot perform both effects with the cards supplied. The only similarity to shock twist is the colour changing ending. The main effect is "your card is" and I honestly believe that this routine is worth the price of the DVD on its own! Having the chameleon deception routine and the cards are a bonus. |
