I personally will stay away from using the Bible as a prop in my routines.

In the book, Unexpected Impuzziblities, there is a booktest using the Bible which has a great reveal. I love it. It is called, "Stairway to Heaven."

Also, Osterlind has a slate routine, using a verse from Numbers, which again I love.

Both of these use the Bible in such a way that it isn't making fun of it at all.

I thought about a Bible Book test where I would do an effect or wanted to do an effect to illustrate some thing in the Bible - I had a Verse underlined and a book mark inserted where it was, reverse the Bible - then had someone insert a duplicate book mark in the Bible anywhere - returning to the podium or someone else, reverse to Bible so that someone, would open to 'your' verse - read it. Understand ?? a thought!! RR

I watched the video - still not sure I would want to perform this with the New Testament. What are your thoughts?

Has anyone here bought and used the MissionMagic versions of the Bible Book Test? My question is about the following. I live in Germany with German translations of the Bible (NT). I'd love to take a routine and use a German one. Might someone point me to the direction of the two versions of MM and at least tell me if the methods would work with a German translation as well? I know about the other ways with force bag and the like, but maybe there's a way to use one of the above mentioned in German too?

Late to the party, AAA Booktest by Marc Paul is perfect. No gimmick required, any Bible.

Best

As a Vent, did an act with CiCi* a Boa Constrictor(distant grandchild of the Eden Serpent - Born Again !) I'd test Her about the Bible, like V"who was Jesus Mother - *"Mary" - V "Who was Jesus step Father ?" *"Verg" - V "Verg?" - *CiCi "yes, they always say, Verg and Mary" - Then I'd correct Her -plus many other questions - 89 in June tooooo tired, to include the whole script - sorry > Bless you all who have the Entertainment Gods Gift, to Share.
